I think you should stick to the bad puns.

No one is being permanently alienated by a beer going on sale for its second release of the year 30 min early. People still chase down BCBS after 2015 and it has nothing to do with “goodwill” and everything to do with Weller and Birthday Bourbon barrels.

 

Doing what you say you're going to do is generally what most people would consider the right thing to do.

Again, we can poke fun at people for being upset when they don't like a release method that results in them missing out. This is Half Acre saying they were going to do something and then doing something different. It's not complicated.

As @HouseofWortship said, an apology literally costs them nothing.

 

I jumped on at 9:05 and the variants showed as sold out, so I'm not sure what happened if people were able to get them at 9:10 or whatever.

I'm not mad that I missed out, just a little disappointed, but defending the choice to open up sales early seems very odd.

In less controversial news...Cherry Brandy Benthic is excellent. When I saw cinnamon on the ingredient list I was a bit concerned, but it's used sparingly & to great effect.

When chilled, it didn't taste that much different than "regular" Benthic, but as it warmed the cherry, cinnamon & brandy notes emerged more. Damn good.

With that said..."regular" is still the king this year for me.

Can't wait to crack Old Ben though...

 

Y'know, I had a snarky suspicion that anyone defending the early release was going to do so after they already got whatever they wanted.

I thought last year's reg was better than 2020s...Guess I missed nothing by skipping variants and the online purchasing experience.

Hops and grapes in Chicago near Loyola has a 2-pack of regular for $29.99

 

That place is a bit pricey, but I found four packs of Rev Ten Year beer there, in May I believe. Also four packs of last years Ryeway.

 

What is MSRP on Benthic? I always think it's around $30 for a 2 pack but I could be off

 

I’m not sure, but it was 27.99 at Binnys, so I think 29.99 is fine.

 

I've seen it between $24.99-26.99 this year. Last year $24.99 seemed standard.
