A Swedish viking forged it for me. It was a gift. Years from now, when a team of goats carries me to Valhalla, I shall use it to drink mead with my forefathers.

SUBLIME!

 

Bestie "pub ale" from Wild Heaven, located east of ATL. Nice, low-ABV first-beer-of-the-day.

 

Prairie Artisan Bourbon Barrel Aged Weekend Imperial Stout, 14.2% ABV. Got no head with an aggressive pour, thick and black with chocolate syrup visible. Nose is chocolate, marshmallow/vanilla, slight coconut, and bourbon. Taste follows, moderately sweet, slightly bitter with a pleasant bourbon burn on the close. Decent mouthfeel if a bit under-carbonated. Overall world-class.

A lazy Christmas eve day off, waiting for the kids to come over later. TBH I had higher expectations for this one. IMHO, it's exceeded by Pirate Paradise, Bourbon Paradise, Pirate Bomb, and Snickerdoodle Vanilla Noir, but still world-class. Might raise my score as it warms.

The marinara/meat sauce is in the slow-cooker, and Mrs. Z is back in bed with the dogs...a Belgian-style Christmas Ale, from pFriem:



Mild and yet assertive coriander upfront; candied citrus rind with concomitant sweetness middle; very light caramel malt base. Spicy, but not too much, well balanced and an enjoyable Christmas Ale. Cheers!
