may need to grab some D&P, it's a solid beer.

Went last weekend for an indoor reservation.

    1. The outside area looks really nice. I hadn't checked it out previously, but they definitely did a good job, and have plenty of those out door heaters along with power plugs by each table for charging and what not
    2. They decorated pretty awesomely for halloween, subtle and meshed well with their vibe
    3. spacing was pretty darn decent. When I was there, the main long table had 3 parties (group of 4, my group of 2 in the center, and a group of 4-5 on the other end). Each of the corner areas had just 1 group to them, the longer little like 2x6 tables that flank the taproom and the back behind the main table had any where from 1-2 groups (both groups were 2 people)
    4. Ordering AND payment is done via clover.com (barcode scan). Scan the bar code, you'll have a table number that you'll drop in notes, submit your order and they'll bring it out. They were doing 12oz and 16oz plastic cup pours only (can pours and a bottle pour of when forever comes crashing as well). You pay per each round, they're not running tabs.
    5. Pricing is $4.69 for 12oz, $6.57 for 16oz, $6.57 for can pour, $13.13 for bottle
    6. Towards the end of the time slot they did let us know it was coming to an end, but if i wanted to we could extend via the reservation app

One side note about the clover site (website, not an app, well maybe there is an app but i just used the site), I am on android 11 and when I was checking out the site wouldn't submit my order if I "auto filled" CC info. After multiple attempts/refreshes I finally just typed out my card info and it submitted. Not sure if it was just me, android, or what. But in case your order just sits at "processing" - this may be a fix

On to the beers! I'm definitely more of a "If there are a few beers I haven't had, I rather do a flight and then get a pour of the stand outs" type of brewery drinking. Unfortunately since they were not doing flights (totally understandable), I just did 2 beers. Waffle Bot - this was damn delicious and I regret not grabbing a crowler. East Side Mags was meh, it's fighting against Weepel for the "worst" hazy i had from Twin this pandemic. Not a bad beer, but if I wouldn't order it again.

    A lot of good info!
It does seem like a lot of other breweries are back to doing flights/small pours, which is nice.

I rarely drink T.E. because Its hard for me to get out there. The last few of times I had their beers, they had this Diacetyl/diesel-y hop intensity. Kinda hard to explain. Dont know if its from the yeast or some water treatment but I did notice something that was chemically off about the brew.

That aside Im pretty excited for this weeks offerings. How has T.E. beers been drinking lately and would you recommend to make the trip out there? It's like a 30-35 minute drive....

I’ve gotten their Rugged Snuggle, Black is Beautiful, at least four recent IPAs and a crowler or two and I thought they were all excellent, with few exceptions. Not every IPA knocks it out of the park.

Same on this...beers have been very good latly,

great rundown on the experience.. We have done outdoor seating there 2x. I wish they would go back to flights but appreciate the 12oz option. Keep hoping for a porter or stout to align with the full ipa line-up for some variety.

I think the set-up is really nice and they take great care to make it distant and clean.Clover is easy to use but wish you could open a tab as opposed to paying round by round but i am being annoying here..

the outside really is well done and you can see why it took so long to open up

interesting, curious to know what beers you had this impression from? I've never had any diacetyl (usually presents as butter) in any TEB beers I've had, but I will say they aggressively hop, and package and release the beers when they are still pretty green IMO. By that I mean that they can be pretty astringent and masking much of the fruity hop flavors. Frankly I personally find their beers significantly better weeks after release. Wondering if that astringent, some might call it hop burn is what you experienced?

that Diesel-y taste is like Other Half's. a mixture of hot hops and a little yeast i think. With TE cans I usually pick up Friday, crack 1 or 2 that night, then sit on the rest until the following weekend.

Ideally i'd prefer if breweries sat on cans until they were drinkable out the gate. But obviously smaller brewies have their space concerns.

Man, I was going to order and have my wife bring it home on her way back from work but I didn’t. I’ve been digging their cans lately too. Maybe it’ll be around for a while.

Twin Elephant apparently did a collab with District 96 that is dropping tomorrow at D96,for anyone in northern NJ who wants to make the trip... no details on the beer itself yet

Also said they are dropping 2 new cans for pickup tomorrow, so be on the lookout today.

You may be right but I'm a big fan of D96 and its collaborations with Equilibrium have been outstanding. I was hoping that the Elephant Snake cans would have lasted till today. Last year, when TE collaborated with Alementary in brewing Siamese Pachyderm, I was happy that cans were available in the Chatham Buy Rite (even though it was technically an Alementary release). I thought that was really nice of Alementary and it was a really good hoppy Pilsner.
