What beer are you drinking now? #2991

Good Morning Beer Advocates, and nice kickoff @dcotom on Day Four of Christmas. Really loved attending service the great Russian Orthodox Cathedral near Humboldt Park back in the day, though nearly all visits were sadly for funerals.

Lassoing the Summer beers from my fridge, this one still OK. A nice light Kolsch to start the day, my last Revolution Ghost Ride, well until they are brewed next time.



Gran Torino is my only Hmong connection, at least at this point of my life.

 

Could be a disaster or genius... and the verdict is closer to genius! Cheers!

 

Here's one for you all. Any red beer connoisseurs out there? Years ago I had one called Steelhead Red Traverse City Michigan, but was discontinued due to as I understand a copyright issue in California. Supposed to have come back as Diabolical but didn't seem the same. Best one so far comes out of Shorts Brewery Bellaire MI called Magician or sometime they do Double Magician. Bartenders I've talked to say there's not many lover's of red beers.

 

Good day BAs! The most recent snow is rapidly melting - so far we've had the most December snowfall in 30 years - hardly noticeable IMHO - why, when I was a kid, the snow was up to my ass by now. And we had to walk uphill both ways to school and home and if you wanted to eat you had to kill one of the wolves following you and ... Well, anyway, since no one is on my lawn right now - Today's New Breakfast Beer:



Wow! Another rare miss from Hoppin' Frog - their stouts are usually right on target - if this one is, then they should have selected another target. Anybody I sent one to, my apologies. Interestingly, the BA photo shows this to be part of the "Tadpole" series - my can lacks this designation. On their website, this is listed under neither the "Tadpole" series nor under their total listing. Looks like they'd like to forget it too. Rating 3.18, rDev -20.3%.

Just finished my fourth nightshift of six straight and toasting 24 years of marital bliss with Mrs. Jkblr today...

Finishing off last night’s bottle (750ml) - Angry Chair’s “Imperial Mocha Awakening”:



Not much coffee when I had this beer on tap a few months ago at the brewery; little to no coffee now from the bottle. Still, a very tasty milk stout where the fudge manages to keep the cinnamon in check.

I’m sitting on the back patio with Tui, it’s sunny and 60ish...maybe I’ll do some yard work...maybe I’ll drink beer. Cheers and have a glorious Monday y’all!

Drinking my Christmas cookies this morning instead of eating from the containers of leftovers. I'm not sure about the gingerbread aspect of this beer and nothing resembles a stout. It does satisfy though with a sweet barleywine-like quality. There's a little cinnamon with allspice and a pleasant warming feel. I'd buy it again.

Another chill day in what will be a lazy week before shifting gears in the new year. Enjoy the rest of 2020 the best way you know how......
