Not what it used to be, but still solid.

 

Oh man, I'm a pretty simple guy, and these ham and beans are "off the wall" great. The wife kills chili and bean dishes, but won't taste, barely smell either one. Pipeworks Ninja vs. Unicorn pairs perfectly! Oh cornbread muffin....!!

 

You know very well my friend she hides the bourbon. Had a good laugh though.

 

I failed to start my 3 day water fast today, I will try next week. I did make it to the beerwitching hour without food. Since I behaved last night, I will dress up some pizza tonight with good beer.

Tonight's New Year's Beer Tasting Lineup:

1) Firestone Walker's Lager (California), a delicious German Helles-style lager with nice sweet bready and honey flavor profile with nice German notes. This one would be worth comparing to Founder's Solid Gold.

2) Sam Adam's Sam '76 (Boston), a delicious and clean-drinking lager with orange and subtle vanilla cookie flavors. Much more complex than a macro lager. Drinks much more like a modern-day IPL.

3) Fulton Brewing's (Minnesota) Hopstar Session IPA (4.9%): A good session IPA with sweet lemon and peach with a pithy bitterness on the end.

4) Toppling Goliath's (Iowa) PseudoSue Pale Ale: The best pale ale to hit the market this millenium. Huge green citrus, mint, and live pine flavors. Try it and you won't go back.

5) Lake State Brewing's (Colorado) Brown Ale (5.5%): a nice and easy drinking Brown Ale with simple but nice flavors of cocoa and nuts. Spot on for a Brown Ale

6) Lucky Bucket Brewing's (Nebraska) Thug Jumper (5.5%), listed a cocoa brown ale, this beer has strong dark malt flavors with a detectable amount of alcohol on the tongue. Too much alcohol for this to make it worth it.
