Wow - that's over 8 years - I remember when you had to wait until, like 7-8 pm? or something to start/join a thread called Late Night Beer Advocate (LNBA for short ) - and if you posted earlier than 7-8 pm, regardless of how many people joined you...

Back in 2012, I started the Sharing Your Pairing thread, just to post what I was eating while I was drinking lol, and it circumvented the "no drinking before 7/8 rule", but it was also relegated to a "Beer and Food" forum that didn't get much love... *foiled again*

Anyways, it's this from Sam Adams now...

Alpine Lager, 5.5%... Kinda boring, but nothing necessarily "wrong" with it either - mild grain and citrus aromas - flavors are similarly muted and somewhat muddled - presents some malt chew and herb with some mild pine and citrus, but nothing really separates it from the rest... Medium-light body, ample carbonation, smooth, but not the cleanest finish - kind of lingers a bit - which I guess would actually be great if ya liked the beer lol... I won't go back to it, but I can't say that you shouldn't try it either... *shrugs*

An English Mild posted in WBAYDN!?!? WTF?!?!?

I sure miss our local that produced beers like that. I also really miss going to breweries where you might find an off-style that could never be distributed, because the mass consumer-driven world sucks.

I suck, too, but I can complain here, either way.

Even 8+ years ago, an English Mild would've been a rarity, I think.

Funny, though, I saw it was 3000 as I was cracking my beer whilst catching up on/watching the news. I also laughed when I was helping to host NBS/NBW that it had been running for (at this point) twice as long.

Cheers to you long-running BAs who have lived through me and all the other newbies who have joined since you helped drive this site (if not this thread, specifically). History sort of matters, and it is nice to recall it.

What sucks is these cats are already insolvent. Ivory Billed Brewing in Siloam Sprigs does a few Milds even an occasional half Firkin on Friday nights. I think Covid has hosed that all up

Pretty tasty local beer, a little bit on the low side to be called an DIPA in my book though.
