God. I was racking my brains tonight (don’t ask me why) trying to think of the name of this brewery while I watch Stage 18 of the Tour de France—Red Cliff? No. Red Butte? No. Decided to try searching the NW forum for “Henry” and this was literally the first post that came up. Great way to close out my 10th anniversary on BA. I miss Red Peaks. Cheers!

    You too Terry.

I had to look it up. The name was Red Peak (singular), first post was 8 years ago. Such amazing beer from that guy. I believe he also invented hazy IPAs but tossed the recipe.

Yeah, Henry focused on sours, but that adventure into IPAs didn't meet his standards. He was just ahead of the curve.

Ah, the mythical land known as Quishnam. That Brittika Bruin was a damn fine beer.

Do you remember Pacific Crest in Tukwilla? I'd go there a bit and Big Al's as well.

I remember Big Al’s, but Pacific Crest - for beer, at least - is a new one for me.

Man, I recall going to the opening day at Schooner back in 2011 or something like that. They started out doing solid stuff imo.

It was right down the road from Boeing behind a gas station if I recall.

That's a name I haven't heard in a while. The only time I saw their beer was at some taphouse in downtown Seattle many years ago (when I was living in Sacramento). I was actually looking for some beers from Maritime Pacific Brewing, which at the time, was my favorite Washington Brewery. I was a huge fan of their IPA, DIPA and their Winter Ale. The taphouse did indeed have several beers form Maritime, as well as an APA I believe from Pacific Crest. I was always interested in sampling new to me beers at the time, so I went ahead and got a glass of the PC as well. It didn't make me want to stop drinking Maritime beers, but I remember thinking it was a pretty solid APA (a bit on the dry side as I recall).

Glad to see this thread pop up again. Was just reminiscing about Wild Duck in Eugene and the continued influence that Glen Falconer has had on PNW beer since his passing. One year for Thanksgiving my roommates and I all had friends from all over come to Eugene for the holiday. One friend was a manager at Wild Duck and procured a 1/2 bbl of Tripendicular Barleywine for the occasion. Tryptophin and Tripendicular was a deadly combination.

A number of surprises on here I hadn't heard about. Am very sad to hear about Big Horse Brewing in Hood River, even though I completely agree with the article's assessment of their beer quality (very inconsistent). Also surprised to read about the Rams Head over at the Clackamas Mall. While I was never impressed with their food or their beer, given the location, I figured they'd keep on forever regardless.

Strange their "big" seller in recent years seemed to be "Outburst IIPA" a cheap yet serviceable "Bum Imperial"...how was that classed back east? If that goes it will be missed by us low wage bums

I think Apricot Ale is their big seller. I would rather see them gone, and open up shelf space for more local beer.

I see tons of Outburst and Big Ballard (Red Hook) cans/bottles discarded amongst the malt liquors on the streets of North Seattle.

Is Budweiser still brewing Red Hook beer? I figure that would be the first CBA brand they would discontinue.
