Interesting that at the same time New Realm has announced a Black IPA too.

I saw this finally advertised on our distributors website today. Now I just have to hope my local store decides to order some.

Their one-off Enjoy By Black IPA had it as well. I’d love to see that one again too, though the differences between the two were probably few.

I'm done with those litigious a-holes. Never buying their beer again.

Ya, just like with stone, I have to assume the higher price is just somebody deciding they need a big slice along the chain.

I'd buy a lot more schlenkerla, and probably stone back in the day, if it were priced better

Yeah. They kill us on it. It's a shame too because it really is an amazing beer

Don't ask if the beer is worth that much, but are you worth that much.
At least once a week, or maybe more.

Even better, don't support suppliers who are seriously ripping you off.

I agree. Normally I'm all for charging what you can, and cranking up your margin is fine, but at least with Stone they are sure giving up a ton of volume. But I'm pretty confident they're going to be sold fairly soon, so maybe it's intentional.

With a bit of luck, others will follow. I don’t think I am the only person who likes this style of beer!

What's your over under? I'll be very surprised if stone brewing has the same ownership come Jan 9, 2023

I say +500 on a sale, probably to Heineken.

If SSR makes it here I’ll probably buy it but the Escondidian Anniversary Black ale was better. Probably the best black IPA I’ve ever had (except possibly my local Carton Epitome.

Hunterdon had it advertised on their site so I’m assuming it’ll be available here. Not listed on new releases this week. Maybe next? Or soon after.

Totally agree. That Escondidian Black Ale (15th Anniversary IIRC) was a phenomenal beer.

Good for Stone, someone there was listening/reading consumer input. Many have mentioned so many great Stone beers that should make a return but the Xocoveza stout that is easy to find the last few years is really good. So there have been a few bright spots with Stone in last few years.

Xocoveza was plentiful the last few years but this year I never found it in St. Louis except for some 2019 at total wine. Woot Stout and Anniversary were not distributed nationally this year. I sure hope the return of SSR signals the return of classic Stone.

And to add insult to injury those expensive imported beers are all too often quite old on the shelves of my local beer retailers'. They want me to pay a premium for old imported beer? I don't think so.

The majority of the German style beers I purchase are brewed by local craft breweries. Those beers are of high quality, very fresh and economically priced.

Those German beer importers can take a long walk off a short pier!! :grimacing:

    Cheers!

New Realm released Parting Shot Black IPA last year (around February if I remember correctly) as the 'treasure hunt beer' in their first variety pack. I haven't seen any recent posts about it?
