Its their Biere De Garde, and I've absolutely fallen in love with it! Does anyone have a clone recipe? I can't seem to find one at all.

Funny you should ask, as I have an attempt at a "modified clone" scheduled for brewing soon.

I really love this beer, and every time we go to the RR brewery in Santa Rosa my wife automatically kicks things off with a Perdition. She loves it. I want to clone it, but let it age out with Brett C to give it even more depth and some dark cellar mustyness to compliment the rich malt and spicy yeast. But I digress...

My recipe formulation is based on a very generous email from Vinnie himself, which I would just copy and paste here, but I'm not sure if he expected the info to remain "secret" or not... probably not as he has no idea who I am and most likely wouldn't give anything "top secret" to a complete stranger like myself, but I didn't ask permission to share so you'll just have to go by what I have put together based on his info and my tastes...Keep in mind that I haven't attempted this clone yet:

    My recipe:

    58% Rhar 2-row
    10% Vienna
    10% Wheat Malt
    10% Crystal 40
    5% Castle Aromatic Malt
    1% Acid Malt
    1% Carafa III
    5% Corn Sugar

Equal parts Styrian Goldings and Sterling hops at 60min and 10min to get to 38IBU.

    WY3711 in the low 70s

I'm going to mash at 158. Sounds crazy right? Why so high? Why so high on the specialty grains? Well, the website states OG1.058 and ABV6.1% which puts the FG at 1.012...but they use WY3711. I have no idea how they get that yeast to finish so goddamn high (it has always gone below 1.003 for me) ESPECIALLY when they use dextrose, so I gather the mash temp and grain bill have to leave behind a butt load of dextrins.

Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Thanks for the info man. I might just email him myself. Vinnie definitely seems like a really nice guy.
