    "Kinda" is an understatement.

Pretty sure they increased the alcohol content on this in the last 2 years. I had it at the end of 2010 and thought it was too light for the style as well. Glad I didn't try it again this year. I still might though. Time will tell...

They taste good, but the "stout" label is a huge advertising flaw.

Your description matches their Imperial Stout as well. Never had a good stout from those Petaluma Pot Heads...I most always stick to their dank beers.

Personally, I've always felt it was thin and underwhelming. Which is why I haven't purchased it in the last couple releases. Good too see I made the right decision. And I tend to agree with others, Lagunita's stouts in general leave much to be desired. Good thing they excel at plenty of other styles.

I haven't had this years, and I won't, after last year I'm done with this beer, but always found it to be thin and frankly a mess of a coffee stout. The high alcohol content and thin body, coupled with unimpressive coffee just didn't do it for me. I'll stick with Founders Breakfast Stout and Terrapin W-n-B for my coffee stout fix.

Same shit every year. Such and such seasonal isn't as good as it was last year. Veterans know to just read the thread title and move on. Unless they get sucked in like me. Doh!

I agree with those who say it isn't very stout. Its very thin, more of a roasty brown ale.
But the stout/porter/brown ale argument has been had many times and brewers label there beers whatever they want.
I know people who love this beer, its tasty cheap and has a high abv...personally I usually pass on this one..it was better last year, every year.

I've only had this beer once and it was a couple of years ago, but at the time I thought it was thin and watery. Tastes like a watered-down gas station "cappuccino." By far the worst beer I've had from an otherwise good brewery.

I've only had just this year so no comparison for me. It was decent not an overperformer for sure but at the $4.99 price I wasn't complaining either.

My issue with this beer is that it has absolutely nothing in common with a cappuccino.

Never had previous years' releases, but I was not impressed at all by this year's. In fact, I very much disliked it. My issue is that it reminded me of old wet coffee grounds...just didn't work for me.

I've only had this beer once (last year), and I think it's a decent enough beer but one of the biggest cases of false advertising I can remember. It does not even come close to resembling what a "cappuccino stout" should. As you said, it's more like a coffee-flavored brown ale or a thin coffee porter. How many stouts are there where you can see light through a totally full pour in a tulip glass?

I had this for the first time last year. I can't remember enough to describe it, but i just remember being underwhelmed. I just passed on it yesterday but i might still pick it up some time in the future. IMO, their Imperial Stout slaps on this.

Tried this for the first time a few weeks ago and after hearing good reviews, it certainly was weak for a stout. Kind of similar to Surly's Coffee Bender with a little less on the coffee front.

This beer has always been thin and underwhelming. I love all their other beers. I think theyre better with hoppy beers, their stouts...bleh

Thin and underwhelming is exactly what I was thinking when I had some at Lagunitas tasting last week.
