I’m still a bit confused as to what is exactly legal. All the breweries around us have interpreted that diagram differently.

And, as is usual with LCB, each agent is gonna read it differently too.

In TC news. Barley’s Brewhub has announced on FB that they are closing their doors for good at the end of the month. This is a loss for the TC. Good grub (Heck Triple D even stopped by), a good tap list, and just a nice place to hang. Don’t have too many of spots like this in the TC. From the FB post, “We hope you will visit us before month’s end, to tip a cold one and see what we are working on next!”

Not sure if this the best spot, but I figured here. Maybe it is just a TC concern?

Has anyone else noticed how expensive growlers have become? When growler guys first came to Richland, you could get a growler for 8 bucks. Now the cheapest one is 15 bucks. I get it that prices go up, but when it cost more to get a growler (64 ounces) than a sixer 72 ounces, why would I grab the growler? The kegs in the TC aren’t necessarily fresher than the cans/bottles. Some examples.

    Lucille I can get 10-12$a sixer. Bottomcutter...12-15$

Maybe just a local Growler Guys complaint? I am curious if this is happening elsewhere?

I've slowly seen growlers creep up to this price around town. The only places where I could reliably get a $12 growler are New Seasons, Market of Choice or Fred Meyer, or at least, before their growler stations closed thanks to the plague. Now, it's mostly just crowlers, where a $8 fill is a good deal and $10is the norm :-(

Yowsa! Those are some high prices. The GG Brendan ran in town here in PDX had much gentler pricing, and I have to think the rent there was a lot higher. Granted, that was a couple of years ago now, but the prices you posted are undeniably high.

Are they the only game in town out where you live? I have to figure they're charging those prices because there's no place else you can get a growler of those beers.

I should add that we still do have a GG here in town, and their prices are comparable to what you posted. However, they're located in ultra expensive John's Landing, and near as I can tell, it's only locals that go there. To the best of my knowledge, no one outside of John's Landing goes there. But then we have a lot of other options here in the SW part of Portland. So they're not the only game in town.

You're right Dyan, but at least where I live, the Fred Meyer has (or at least had) a pretty decent selection. They pretty much always have RPM on tap, and I've seen things like Lucille, Hop Venom and even Bottom Cutter on tap. Prices are typically around $5 less there than what @rrock44 posted.

In my experience, most GG's have always had pretty decent pricing (PDX, Bend and Eugene). The prices @rrock44 posted seem pretty high to me.

First an Ex Novo Aperture hazy pale, which is damn good citrusy tastiness. I want to drink this in a line with Fort George City of Dreams and Deschutes Fresh Haze. I apparently love the hazy pales.

Finishing my night with a Gigantic The Deep. It’s a really nice oatmeal stout. I may buy another.

I have noticed growler/crowler prices rising. I guess its peeps trying to ride out the corona storm. So i don't mind paying if i can.

The Eastside Bend GG has most stuff in the $11-18 range. Definitely up over the past few years but still below those TC prices.

I haven't really looked at growler prices in the last year, but, AFAIK, there's still a couple breweries in town that do fills of core beers in the $8-9 range. Both of our Fred Meyers have pulled out their growler stations (but enlarged the package coolers), and I haven't been to Whole Foods in a year, so I don't know what they're current pricing is, but they used to be reasonable.

Well, there was Barley’s brewhub. Brew’s Taphouse on road 68 in Pasco (never been, but good tap list; prices not listed online), Coppertop in Kennewick (my go to spot to grab some pints and occasional growler; been a while on both of those; no prices listed). Not sure if Tommy’s tap house and Tap and Barrel in Richland do growlers. There is also Bob’s Burger and Brew that does growlers, so I would guess across the street neighbor hop and drops does too.

Long story short, not necessarily the only game in town. But I would say the major player and probably “set” the price point for the others. But that is speculation.
