I’m jealous! Dare I say best barrel program in Chicago? Close call but I would give it to them. Cheers!

The salmon looks great, always a nice reminder that I don’t eat fish as much as I should, although a cod filet now and then really hit the spot.

This is my all-time MVP. My favorite beer, the beer I’ve had in the most places and spent the most cash on. Was feeling jealous of @TheIPAHunter just a few days ago for having it, and lo and behold, it showed up at my favorite shop, like a gift from beer nirvana. My goodness, how I LOVE this beer. Might even be a bit illegal...

Toasty, raisins, figs, dates, ripe citrus toward the end with lots of brown sugar. A hint of oxidation doesn't diminish at all. Cheers!!

The best as far as I’m concerned. Don’t think there’s a close second anymore. When you treat barrels of stouts, barleywines, ryewines and porters with the care of lambics by brewing and blending then you are doing it right!

Or was that something Lindros imagined after Scott Stevens nearly took his head off? #dirtiestever?

Those short ribs look amazing. Found a great butcher near us who provided equally good-looking specimens (though not smoked) for the braised ones I try to do every New Year's Day. Pastrami looks mouth-watering, too.

I didnt even use my smoker just the grill with a burner and a smoking box. The wind made it very difficult.

Wax Wings The Pomona Project: Rataba (fruited sour w/ raspberry, tangerine, and banana). I’m gonna need to make my way back up to Kalamazoo soon to get more of their beers. Been impressed so far.

Love your reading range, man. Read Gormenghast as a kid, it was a little over my head. Deep into Vandermeer's Southern Reach Trilogy right now, really loving it. I actually watched the film of Annihilation before reading the books. In retrospect, I really admire Alex Garland's take on the story; he did an equally nice reinterpretation of Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go.

That was quite a hit, although Lindros vas very fragile for a guy his size. The Stojko story had a lot of traction, but who knows for sure except the people there. Would be funny as hell if true.

4 ~ 5% Rare Beers rated 4+. (*Each Sat I post new to BA/favorite recent beers)
    Green Is Lord | FrauGruber | APA | 5% | Munich
    4.24
    /5 rDev +5%
    look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25
    a) Pours a cloudy bright, light golden with a dense white head that lasts and laces.
    s) Abundant hops, brighter than, but not far from Dales. More floral, with light fruit like lime or orange creamsicle.
    t) Complex mix of fruity, floral, and grassy. Complex, sweet, yet not at all cloying. Always scrubbing and fresh, with a mineral, cleansing finish.
    f) Feels and tastes more interesting than expected than the 5 abv. My favorite of 3 tasted from the brewer. Another day walked around Munich with it. A big beer for big squares and avenues.

Beets, Rhymes, And Life | Fonta Flora | Saison | 5.2% | NC

5th Review. Beets in fall beer work well. See also Carton Vild Bits.
    a) slight beet ping tinge, in hazed golden/amber/beety body, with surprising lasting white head for a field beer.
    s) bright field aromas, of earth, beets, dirt, but no real dankness. Garden wild, saison wild yeast notes.
    t) Follow all the aromas and builds. Very dry and white wine like, champagne like. Invites you back for sip after minerally, dirt-dry sip.
    f) Champagne like, effervescent, drinkable, mineral.
    o) Along with Carton Vild Beets - best use of beets in beer which is a more natural complement than say your tired old pumpkin.

Loving all that comes out of collective arts. Love sour hoppy beers, of which this is leader example.
    A) Pours a hazed golden straw body, with lofty but fast fade, loose head, that laces little.
    S) Wine like, astringent, mix of mineral and cereal, and lime rind, yeast.
    T) Bready, white cracker malt, mineral, lemon yogurt, grapefruit pith, moving into long grassy, yeasty, orchard, cider hops.
    F) Wine-like, astringent, clean, sour.
    O) Fine example

    BFDP | Fair State Coop | Wild | 5.2%

Thrilled to be 2nd (and first three word) review of this delightful Saison.
Brewer: My first, want to try all.
    a) cider, flat head.
    s) wine, cider, astringent.
    t) Super pucker without over play. Lemon, cider, overripe cherry, fall fruit.
    f) Cleansing, puckering, aperitif.
    o) Flanders, fall fruit, cherry like. Winner. As good as any.
Brewer Notes: "BFDP is a blend of our favorite barrels from the cellar." Another big saison in a session format.

For the record, Stojko had a black belt in Karate by age sixteen and once won a silver medal at the World Championships. I have little doubt he could put a beat down on Lindros.
