Did my survey and wish I’d remembered to mention rue’d as a favorite. Also mash and FT. Hope to see those again (especially if rue’d is tweaked a little closer to the original).

I just tried one myself, and I kept thinking "I don't know if we 'needed' a beer like this to be brewed - but here it is." Barely a barleywine, but it is a must try. Comical amount of cherry + vanilla (I mean this in a good way).

Just from smelling it - it took me back to childhood fishing trips with my grandfather, where we would load up on ridiculous snacks from 7-11 like these Hostess Cherry Pies. It is this snack in liquid form:

I’m not sure where you got your information but there are no breweries in Southern California (meaning LA, Orange and San Diego counties at the least) that are allowed to do anything except to sell to go orders. That’s a fact. Whether they have a kitchen or not is irrelevant to that. They are, in fact, defying Newsoms orders.

No. No it's not a fact. You can go on the California ABC website and read that these closures are merely recommended (https://www.abc.ca.gov/law-and-policy/coronavirus19/). Also, the ABC says that alcohol must be served with a meal (https://www.abc.ca.gov/blueprint-for-a-safer-economy/). If you want to see what they consider a meal, look here (https://www.abc.ca.gov/what-is-required-to-be-considered-a-meal/). However, these things do change county to county and some counties, like LA county, are more strict than others.

Do you really think a business would gamble on losing their license (and likely their business) to "defy" Newsom? Come on dude.

That was the state wide policy before the regional stay at home orders were triggered on 12/6 due to ICU capacity (https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-for-essential-needs/#regional-stay-home-order).

That's not state wide but does apply to every county in Southern California. Restaurants are supposed to be takeout only (https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-for-essential-needs/#rshoqas).

yes, it is a fact and businesses are doing just that. LOL at someone a thousand miles away telling me what the law is and what I see with my own eyes where I live. Come on dude.

I had Furst.... And it was perfect. Much better than I anticipated. Best neopolitan style I've tasted. Don't know how long the strawberry will hold up over time, but I would suggest opening sooner rather than later.

Bummed there's no option to get a second, but don't regret passing on the 3L. That size is insanely large.

Hopefully they will make the exact batch again.

The distance i live has nothing to do with how I understand laws and regulations in a state that I spent 29 years of my life. Instead, "what you see with your own eyes" has nothing to do with the laws and regulations in a state. Anecdotes do not mean you know what the actual laws are.

My mistake, I was going off what I had known about it and what friends who are owners of bars/breweries/restaurants have told me about what's going on. Been trying to keep up with the latest regulations but I guess I was off.

    Apparently it does.

it means I’m right, which I was from the beginning. Carry on.

I suppose it does mean you've won. But man, what a sad existence you must lead to feel the need to gloat on a public forum to tell someone you don't know that you "won".

Oh, you're good, no offense taken. You showed me I was incorrect by citing sources.

Stay at home order is being lifted today in OC - so, back to outdoor drinking/dining (at least legally)

Thought I would share that this is Day 5 since I opened Still BT and my third pour. I still get a little sherry up front, but then it nicely transitions into that leather and burnt caramel. There might be a small hint of oxidation, but I could be imagining it. As it warmed up, Overall, I feel it's holding well despite multiple pours. I should still have 1-2 more pours left, so I'll report back for anyone interested! I'm going to try and hold out for 10 days, which seems reasonable even with a bottle of wine.

The vintage So Happens It's Snack Time in the Hoarder box is great! When it first came out in 2018 I thought it was just fine, but the peanut has faded and the chocolate is coming through for better overall balance. Plus overall it's really smooth and mellow. The level in my glass is dropping alarmingly fast...
