What beer are you drinking now? #3023

The bottle tells me to enjoy this as fresh as possible.

I do NOT argue with world-class breweries. Absolutely love this magnificent beer.

 

Yokefellow - this guy was mentioned in an article on hopculture aways back.

Ended up at the brewery where he's doing contract brewing a few weeks back.

Here's the one offering they had for sale to-go...

 

Way too much hop burn in this strata pale ale from Marlowe. I pawned it off to my wife. She doesn’t mind it.

 

About 18 degrees here, so it calls for a dark malty beer. Flying Fish Fried Ice Cream stout.

Went out for a few hours and returned to no heat. After exhausting my very limited troubleshooting skills with the gas furnace, I just made the call of shame to the after-hour repair service. So, I'm having this while I wait for my emasculation....

 

~16 deg F is not common here. I’m workin’ it - trying not be a cupcake Cheers

 

I just have a desire for more Belgians tonight.

Taking an IPA break

 

Julius is tasting fine on this chilly night!

 

I got a hand me down green egg from my BIL last week so got a sirloin burger cooking on it now. Not a bad grilling beer

 

DDH High Road and Mastodon \m/

 

Second blind today, thanks to @Justonemore91 .



L - 1-finger pinkish head recedes quickly, leaving no lacing. Body is a turbid maroon.
S - fuck. Very strong, tart berries. Brown sugar. Vanilla.
T - semisweet blackberry, cherry, raspberry, plum. Definite vanilla and I’m thinking lactose.
F - thicc body with low carb.
O - clearly a heavily fruited sour. Guessing Evil Twin. Unsure of the specific fruits/berries, but blackberry and raspberry are my two strongest impressions. There must be berries in this.

Reveal:


2 for 2 on the brewery today, but out in left field on the ingredients. I guessed vanilla and lactose, but fucked on the rest. I get cherry cola in retrospect but would never have guessed that blind. Thanks @Justonemore91 ! These were fun, and can’t wait to guess the other 7!
