First of most likely a few BarleyWines this weekend. From Kettlehead 11% BA. The 9 months has really mellowed this guy a good amount.

Unexpected turn of events today. My wife's friend has tested positive for Covid. She has been over to our house twice this week. So now my Wife is Quarantined for a least 5 days. Was supposed to go back to work next week, now that is delayed for at least 10 days. I am advised by my employee health not sweat this until I start showing symptoms. I decided to cut out of work early just to avoid spreading it all over the hospital. By Monday morning there should be a clearer picture of what is going on. Just as well I came home early, that second shot made me really tired by about noon. Mostly came home & slept

Good evening, all! I had my first dose of Moderna vaccine this morning, so I think I'll join @Thankin_Hank for a "shot and a beer." This is Firestone Walker Helldorado (Vintage 2017), in a #proper Czech-made designer goblet that I picked up for $3 at T.J. Maxx. They had only one, or else I'd have more than one. Crossposted from the barleywine tasting thread. In short: vanilla, honey, light toffee, coconut, bourbon, and oak, boozy yet incredibly mellow. Cheers!

Colossal beer, single-hopped with Mosaic hops; name is a nod to Sosus of Pergamon, a Greek artist known for his work with - you guessed it - mosaics...

Despite how crappy Big Blue has been lately, we certainly had some great teams over the years - the classic Giants teams from '85-'90 and the Brady beaters in '07 and '11 (plus a lotta good years around then) - still mostly shitty from 2012 on though... lol

As soon as I finished my second short pour of Helldorado earlier, Mrs. Z recruited me to help move furniture/decorate...thereafter I took a long nap on the new, very comfortable couch.

My night cap is a one off from Eighth State Brewing Co., Greenville SC that I got as part of an IP trade with my Charleston pals in October - “Severance”:



Bottled July 2020. Poured at 54°. An English Pastry Barleywine with toasted hazelnut and toasted coconut added. A heavy weight tipping the scales at 15.8% abv. A winter sipper for sure. Cheers and goodnight!

Where I'm at there's no variety really for beer...but it's ok...I can still find my fav. Heineken! Remember, Drink Heineken and you'll feel fine again!!

Man, Russ, I've been randomly dizzy and randomly sleeping for the last two days since getting shot two. I'm working from home on some online training but keep falling asleep. Except at 2am last night when I woke up dizzy. Weird deal.
