Yes, Blue had a heavy body and mouthfeel- from the oats I think. I enjoyed that aspect of it. Big Blue doesn't have the same quality, or not as much. I don't always love that sensation, but on a heavily mosaic hopped beer, I think it is sublime. I am not suggesting that TH start putting in Lactose like Other Half.

Yes, despite that fact that I wish it was just coffee and not both chocolate and coffee, I could not resist. Will be a while probably before I drink it.

I believe there is plenty of Boom Sauce at Ted's down the road from Tree House.

Thanks. A better explanation than spelling thick incorrectly.

I’m sorry you don’t know how to spell.

Despite the price tag, I think I’ll grab one if they’re still in stock.

Not to turn this into a tasting thread, just opened up the evening with Super Treat, only the second pint I’ve had. It has a thicker malt than I remember, it’s pretty solid all around.

The name and can art of the Treat series has always made me shy away. TH's core IPAs are plenty sweet for me, so I have guessed that Treat might push the sugar too far. Is my skepticism well founded, or off base? I understand there's gonna be sweetness involved in a beer with this name and can art, but I'm curious to know your thoughts about whether it's way over the top or more subtle.

That’s exactly how I felt about Super Treat, the name turned me off because I thought it wouldn’t be balanced well, and would be too sweet. IMO, It’s not the case, there’s plenty of base to take on the hops, and the finish, again, is well balanced.

Grabbed another 2 4 packs of very green, 2 4s of doubleganger, brownie, and fluffernutter.

I regret not going back for a second 4 pack of very gggreennn when it was available.

Does anyone know if the labels they give out suggest future releases? I got a king Julius today.

Yeah, you’re right. Jokes on me, I had the last batch, less than a month ago. Ha.

I agree that is scared me with the candy art, but I've since Treat and Super Treat and don't think it was over the top sweet. On par with other Tree House beers.

I'm almost certain that they pre-make a certain number of the mixed cases each day (chalking it up to limiting Covid spread risk internally) and that those can indeed dwindle down to zero. Think they said this at "the beginning".

    Super Treat is fantastic, IMO.

To me, it just has a flavor of "candied" fruits (orange, peach, etc...).

Definitely not subtle, but not over the top either. It's no sweeter than many of their other DIPA's.

Semi-serious question. Does Treehouse do anything that’s subtle?

IMO, even their ESB and Oktoberfest are robust for the style. And that’s not to say they’re overdon and over-hopped (though I’d debate that for Old Man), but to me, for the styles, they’re still relatively intense.

I'm drinking a Quadruple shot right now. It's over the top in every way. You can 100% find so many subtle flavors while it warms up, some real, some maybe imagined, all delicious.

I think you can find subtleties in even their most over the top stuff. Just not necessarily straight out of the fridge.

If you're looking for subtle, I'd definitely recommend trying some of the lagers: Nomad, Wanderer, and in particular, if they brew it again, Free to Roam (oak-conditioned helles).

Little Fire was fantastic and aptly named. Just the slightest kiss of smoke that you'd overlook if you're not paying attention, but once you notice it, it ties the whole beer together.
