Haha yeah huadog did a great job of giving hints. This might be my second favorite growler, after the hill farmstead one of course!

Hope everyone enjoyed their first night! It's snowing like crazy here, so I'll probably be unwrapping my second bottle this afternoon. I wanna see some pics tonight!

I cracked opened a growler of

Taza Stout - Night Shift Brewing

I didn't get as much chocolate as i was hoping for but that could be because i tossed this sucker in the fridge when i first got it. I'll let the growler sit out for a while today and give it another shot and post a picture later.

So whats the protocol for open bottle #2? Do i have to wait till sundown or anything?

I opened number 2 (bottle 1) this afternoon so my husband could partake in the unwrapping before taking off on a business trip. I must say, I am off to a pretty good start--a great growler and now a bottle of 2012 Abyss, a big want to keep a vertical going. Thanks!!

It's up to you Mista. I'm just waiting during the evening since that's when the second night "officially" begins.

I'd let it warm a bit. It's a fairly complex beer, kind of like a chocolate stout and belgian stout hybrid. Definitely not a chocolate bomb like Young's... I find it a nice sipper on a cold day - if nothing else it is something unique from a new brewery that I figure you've never tried, which is why I sent it.

Just got home, i'll take it out of the fridge and let it warm up. Never had anything from this brewery before and happy to try new things :grinning:

Sweet! Bomber of Alaskan Smoked Porter. Love this beer, and it's a perma-want. Also haven't had the 2012 yet. Thanks boatshoes!

I didnt get a chance to post a picture of my growler last night since my wife and i were at a Channukah party till late at night, so i staged a day 1 picture for today and cracked open the growler of Dark Horse - Thirsty Trout to enjoy while watching the Niners play the fish.

The growler is awesome looking, first clear one in my collection. This will be used for making yeast starters. The beer, although tasty is a bit flat. I have never had much luck with screw top growlers. Im enjoying it nonetheless. Thanks again for sending this one, rjm217.

Yeah I was a little fearful of carb issues with the long journey. Sorry about that.

I will get a pic of my bottle a bit later after dinner. Im hoping for something tasty.

Night two, bottle number 1 opened. No camera right now, but iadler nailed it with night 2.

Founders Nemesis 2009. Loved the 2010 but never have had the pleasure of tasting the sweet nectar of the 09.

Just unwrapped the second bottle from huadog and it turns out to be ZZ Hop Triple IPA from Auburn Alehouse. Never heard of this beer/brewery, so I'm excited to give it a try! Sounds damn hoppy! Thanks huadog.
