How does your avatar affect your online interactions?

My original avatar was Joey Ramones holding a PBR, someone here was making avatars for people here. I then changed to a fishing lure and I changed mine after the 2016 election to a Simpsons reference. I was going to change it back last year after the election but I changed it to my current one. It’s a bit boring in tiny format but quite awesome in real life. It’s a photo of the collection DJ Ross One sold. I love vintage boom boxes. I’m sure I will change it to something a bit more colorful and identifiable.

To answer the original Q, no I don’t think avatars get more/less reply.

I had a very loud and trippy avatar for the longest time. It reflected my attention-***** personality as a young man. But now I'm in my mid-30s and decided to grow up and make my avatar the kaomoji logo of my favorite 28-year-old EDM artist. I'm just one step away from a lawnmower avatar

Not at all. Mine is a massive Baobab tree in Africa somewhere with a man leaning on it. It shows the scale tree to human. I'm a complete tree-hugging fool that has lived in the woods the majority of my life.

I had a Buddha bowing in prayer to a Swish for almost my whole time on BA. Then after a pic from a concert I played in this summer a friend of mine said the pic of me singing/screaming he could relate to. The woman that took the pics took a bunch and she was really good. So I changed to that mainly due to the response of my friend. Honestly Ive kind of been adverse to anyone using their own pic- (theres a few cool ones but yourself drinking a beer is so lame) I am breaking my own rule with this one so I am probably going to change again soon.

 

I've noticed your avatar countless times, and I never noticed the man leaning against the tree. I like it even more now, very cool photo.

Mine is a sign I found at the gym a while back. Don't know if it was a autocorrect / misspelling, or what - though I suspect it was; I don't think anyone there knew what |"temporally" means.
I have a few different avatars for different sites and forums - I don't know that it really makes a huge difference to intractions - I'm a thread-killer everywhere.
|I suppose I could be changing it up all the time, but I usually don't have the bandwidth to do so all the time, not to mention downloading the photos from my phone to computer to use them.

I believe it depicts more than a few 21st Century dwellers looking longingly back to the 20th Century.

 

EDIT: A big part of the story on this also was the Hat Im wearing which was gifted to me by the inimitable @WesMantooth Its a Wooly Pig Brewery Hat that came with the greatest BIF box Ive ever received.
