Cross post with New Beer Sunday #833 / New Beer Weekend #30, a new beer released a month ago by Revolution, Centennial-Hero. Full Story linked, long story short, this is the best Centennial IPA I can recall, totally kicks ass.



PS - I wanted to chime in regarding the video of Stone IPA 1.1 posted yesterday by THEE OG @TheIPAHunter . The brewer in question either already quit Stone or was in the process of leaving when that video was shot (video posted by Stone 7/11/16). Mitch Steele gave notice in June 2016 to start a new brewery, New Realm. I'm assuming the quote below on their website may be aimed at a certain person who claims to walk on water beer.

Sitting with the wife watching the squirrels and birds eat all of the crap she threw out for them while sipping on a Self-Righteous Ale. So glad Stone brought this one back.

5.7% ABV.
Cherry Hill, NJ

Opague black. Tan head great lacing. Smells of charcoal. Chocolate. Lots of dark fruit. Plum fig. Blackberry. Tastes like a natural cigar wrap. Light chocolate notes. Not rauchbier smoky but sitting by the fire in the back of your throat smoke. Cuban roast espresso. Plenty of acidity to balance this. Medium bodied. Love that the abv is low because this is my second one of the 4 pack and I’m picking up nuances better as I drink more. The smoke and acidic blend well. Hop bite as well is earthy and herbal.

perhaps morbid but I love the stories on this brewery’s cans and the New Jersey folklore and history of events.

for being a brewery in Camden county in the huge suburb of Cherry Hill they sure do love the northern shore.

Good day BAs! Another nondescript January morning thus far - chilly but otherwise bland - excitement expected later. Another Hallmark Card holiday. Today's New Breakfast Beer is sort of new/not new. This is one I've had fairly fresh about four years ago vs. one aged 10 years - reviews have also evolved:



Ten years old is pushing the limits, IMHO. Still, pretty damn good - 4.05, rDev +0.7%.

 

One dimensional and that makes it really tasty.
