NBS BIF #13 Sign Up Thread

I've had beers from 48 states.

South Dakota is one of the two that I've not had the pleasure of enjoying a beer brewed in that fine state. The other is West Virginia, and I've not had a beer from Washington DC, either.

I can understand West Virginia, and to an extent DC (although how I've not tripped over a DC Brau beer in all my travels is beyond me), but we lived in Minnesota for EIGHTEEN YEARS - how did I miss a beer from South Dakota?????

I'm flummoxed.

 

Boy, did I screw that up! Yup, I'm in!

 

I have been able, in the past, to get some Fernson beers when I travel to New Ulm. The last time I was there, before Christmas, the Liquor Depot didn't have any in anymore.
For me, it's about a 2 1/2 hour drive to Watertown, SD, and I've been there several times last year, and once already this year. South Dakota has some good beers, and I'm not just talking about the Lupulin branch in Sioux Falls. Dempsey's in Watertown has a smoked kolsch that I just totally dig. Eponymous in Brookings makes amazing sours. I've only been to Remedy in Sioux Falls, but I do like their Queen Bee Imperial honey cream ale.
Even if you're not my target, I might have to remedy you not getting a beer from South Dakota.

 

WV was the last state I got to finish all 50. ND was a chore too, but, IIRC, @Victory_Sabre1973 got that one for me.

Glad to have helped on that. I don't have WV yet, though my friend at work might have connections to get me one from there.ND is so easy for me to get. We have Fargo Brewing at work all the time, and we get Drekker every 3 weeks, or so.

 

I remember watching the Iron Chef competition with Bobby Flay on the original Iron Chef, and totally think he wrongly got the win.
And, no, I can not compete on that level. I totally think you must have an artistic skill to be a master chef at that level. I do not even close.

Yeah my wife likes the show Im not a fan really. Think its totally staged. I hate the judges too. A bunch of prima donnas. I hope one of these rogue chefs dump a plate on them someday.

I did talk to my friend who I like to brewery hop with, and he's up to going back in March. So, it's looking like it's on.

It doesn't even take me an hour to drive to WV, and yet if I want any beer from there I can't get it without making the drive. That said, I was able to tick WV for @WunderLlama and don't mind making a scenic drive to help out some beer brethren(weather permitting this time of year). If something happens with @Victory_Sabre1973's source I can certainly pinch hit.
