Hoping to see a bunch of places come out of hibernation starting in March. Obviously the weather won’t be fantastic, but I recall many places saying they’d reopen around that time frame.

They are closed for now "hibernating". Hoping they survive.

They had outdoor seating on the street during the summer (Waltham closed sections of Moody Street. But yeah, way too small for indoor only seating to make it worth it.

Pretty much all the spots here in Portsmouth take care of us well.

Absolutely. I see many places opening late March while Covid cases keep declining due to vaccinations & folks who've already had it.

Spoke to a restaurant owner in the immediate Boston area who feels the same and is generating biz plan based on the same.

Yup, I'm fairly optimistic as well. Although cases are declining due to the holiday surge being past us. The positive impact of the vaccinations supposedly won't be noticeable for a few more weeks.

There is one last hurdle to get over though...the UK and South African strains becoming more dominant in the next few weeks. The UK one wreaked havoc over there.

Yeah I’m in Watertown so the new Notch Brighton place is gonna be nice. Plus that location is so cool. Have always thought that place would be a cool location for a beer garden and then lo and behold Notch swooped in.

Haven't even had a chance to think about where I want to go next internationally. That's a good one.

If you like lagers, you'll love Munich. There and Bamberg are talked about in the Germany forum as the top two places for lager in Germany (though not the only cities for lager obviously).

Oktoberfest is a must if you've never been, but not something you need to experience more than a couple times. The food is awesome too.

Also the novelty of just walking around and then seeing a random pop up bier garden is awesome as well. You can drink outside there too because they're way more mature about drinking than we are (especially compared to MA).

Helps that they've been drinking beer for longer than we've been a country. As much as it's probably a tourist trap, having a dunkel and a pretzel at the Munich Hofbrauhaus was a cool way to start my trip there. That beerhall alone is almost 200 years older than America.

I also don't think they ever had a stupid idea like prohibition, although they did make 6 million other major mistakes.

I miss Deciduous locally and certainly treehouse.

Gotta get to the Veil. Had plenty of Tarpey’s beer when he brewed up here on the seacoast. The stuff I get from them here and there is just so so good good.

I'm waiting for the Québec border to reopen, to get back to where I left off in the Estrie. There are a lot of small breweries and, prior to the plague, I'd been stopping in sort of at random. I'd like to do a more systematic tour now, I think. (Although I could spend an entire day at Dunham). Also, my daughter's at school in Lennoxville and I miss her.

And, of course, I have to drive right past the exit for Hill Farmstead both coming and going.

More than any particular visit, I'm just looking forward to being impulsive again. Not having to know how it "works" anywhere (do I need a reservation, what is my minimum party size, how long can I stay, can I drink there this month or is it only to-go, etc.).

Hell- I want to loudly belly up to a townie bar in rural Quebec with a Bruins Jersey on and loudly proclaim that the Canadiens suck while ordering a Molson Canadian. I would enjoy the the human connection from the butt kicking I would get. I don't even like hockey or Molson beers. Ha!,but seriously, I would very much like to visit Montreal this summer for the beer, food, hopeful festivals, and the joie de vivre mixed with North East attitude that is my favorite city in North America.

Seeing the Bs vs Habs at the Bell Centre has been on my bucket list for such a long time. Shame they don’t even meet in the regular season this year. Dunno what the NHL is thinking abandoning one of the best rivalries in sports. Hopefully they meet in the post season.

Apparently up in Canada they love this new shake up because all the Canadian teams play each other. Ratings are through the roof.

This isn't permanent though, it's just to reduce travel due to Covid.

    You know I love lagers.
Richmond is great but The Veil was arguably the worst brewery experience from our trip.Totally overrun with people. We enjoyed everywhere else we went, but we couldn't wait to leave The Veil once we were there.
