    Ah that sound reasonable, thanks!

I will buy multiples of something I have a good indication of that I will like. Too many times in the past I have wished for another bottle of whatever beer after trying the first. I figure I will open one with my friends, cellar one, and either cellar the third or possibly send it to a friend out of state who has been looking for it.

Event Horizon is one of my favorite beers, definitely from NC, and I like Duck Rabbit. To be honest I didn't love Foothills SC when I tried it on draft, but my pallet has likely evolved so I'd be willing to give it another try and I've been told by others who share similar tastes that I would love the BA version. I realize blending all three of these is going to change the experience I have had trying them stand-alone, but I still figure for me ORF is a must have.

I am surprised the S3xual Chocolate release gets more love, but then again I've yet to try ORF.

I think ORF will continue to get bigger; much to the chagrin of people like me who drive in from the coast

SC has been around a lot longer and still has more of a reputation with people out of state. It's one beer that somewhat validated nc beer.

I think that is somewhat changing though with the emergence of Event Horizon, Lindley Park, and perhaps ORF.

The only problem with Event Horizon is that it's so good that I don't want to trade mine, so no one else will know! :grinning:

I agree. I had a fantastic time and tried some world class beers and I met some really awesome new beer friends.

    Cheers,

It was a bit sad to see how few people showed up Friday night, but the more relaxed atmosphere was a blast. The morning tastings were amazing as always. Big thanks to those who brought Sans Pagaie (Friday), BA Naked Evil, and Serendipity - those were all pretty amazing. Gotta love a tasting where glasses of Jade, ORF, and Sexual Chocolate just sit on the table because there's too much other beer to drink.

So what was up with Friday night? I stopped by with a friend of mine, we didn't bring any beers to share but just wanted to grab a few pints. I asked our waitress who was handling the bar area about a pre-release party/bottle share in the back. She told me it was a private brewers party in the back and not a public bottle share. I didn't think much of it at the time.

It was the usual deal. Compared to past years there were very few people there, maybe because they were turning people away? This was the first one I remember where there was still plenty of food left even hours after it started.

Worse then that, with the stupid limit one bottle thing the store does I am afraid to drink the only one I have, since the next day I will be crying like a woman who just found out her man is cheating with her best friend.

It's been over 48 hours since the ORF release/bottle share and I am still dumbfounded at the amazing brews that such kind people shared and the amazing old and new friends that I shared them with. I was blessed to pull up a seat at a table with Unfitredhead and Vincent as well as my new friend Bluecane and others (sorry new friends, my memory is shorter than my _____ . The brews started coming and although I have have been blessed to try over 1650 unique beers, one after another world class brews I'd never had continued to pour into my tasters. I screwed up and went out for a smoke an probably missed some great ones as well, BUT man what a great time. If I didn't get to meet you and you saw an idiot wearing a Bonnie Blue Flag/Cape that'd uh been me. Already starting to save up some great brews for the next Foothills release (SC assumed) and in some small way perhaps I can repay all of your kindness in the future. Sincerely, Gary aka Redneck Beerz

That sucks man; I'm sorry you got some bad info.
It was definitely not a private party.Me and my friend came in from Raleigh and knew I think one or two people back there. We just took our coolers straight through the pub area and straight back. As far as I know it was busines as usual for the bottle share that night.
The only exception was that there were way less people than the BASC release.
Honestly I think we were the only ones in line (10 of us or so that spilled over from the bottle share) until sometime around 5am.
The low head count definitely worked out well personally because I was not only able to try some amazing beers I've never had but I was also able to share some of my bottles with a great group of guys that seemed to like them.

I agree 100%! I was just telling a friend from work about it and it really does amaze me how generous everyone was being at the table. I think I had an event horizon, parabola, CBS, Naked Evil, Consecration, and Serendipity in one 15 min span. It was amazing and shows what a great group of people these BA guys (and not all of them were BA guys) can be.
I mean I was so lucky that I completely dropped a bottle from about 4 ft high.
It hit the road and rolled under another car and it never broke!
Already have it set aside as my lucky bottle!
I can wait to trade a couple bottles and get some great stuff for the next event!

    Cheers!
    Chris

The name is Chris; by the morning I had a blue hoodie on but had a red Nike T on most of the evening.
I had a Carolina Hurricanes black beach cooler I was dragging around.
Was hanging out with an Asian guy and a girl from Belgium and a bunch of others I just met that evening.

    How about you?
