What beer are you drinking now? #3045

I hope your struggles with finding some decent beer in Western MD have turned around. Where the f*** did you find that Hop Ranch?!

In Cumberland, there’s not much. I’ve tried the places that you can get in and out of without feeling like you’re going to get held up at gunpoint. Frostburg is an old school college town, as far as stores go, there’s not much there. LaVale has Liberty Liquors, they’re alright, nice place, selection may not blow you away depending on the season. There’s also Maryland Discount liquor. A bit more of a hole-in-the wall, but they might surprise you. Both places are on route 40 a few miles down the hill from Frostburg. You still may find some shit that’s past it’s recommended shelf life...but hopefully not 2015 shelf life.

Noon Whistle Waving at Strangers english barley wine. I wasn't expecting to say "Wow", but my nearest neighbor in the taproom asked what I was having when she heard my exclamation.

First time for me at the newly renovated (a year ago) bar, and, other than a quick trip to the lavatory, inside the newly built-out (again, a year ago) taproom. Great space to go with great beer.

 

Had to fix a toilet at Mom & Dad's house. Brought a few beers for after job completion. Had to get a pic with their vintage phone...I love this old timey thing.
