Hey all. Unfortunately, something has come up last minute for me. My co-worker Alex will be there to facilitate things in exactly the same format as last time.

Enjoy, and I hope to catch up with you all soon.

Great tasting, although not as much people came as the first one. Think we had around 7 people to begin with and 4 people at the end. Good times. From what I remember this is what we had:

Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout - Goose Island Beer Co.
Alaskan Smoked Porter - Alaskan Brewing Co.
Scratch Beer 76 - 2012 (Special HOPS) - Tröegs Brewing Company
Bolita Double Nut Brown Ale - Cigar City Brewing
Pure Hoppiness - Alpine Beer Company
    Brute - Ithaca Beer Company
Firestone 16 - Anniversary Ale - Firestone Walker Brewing Co.
AleSmith Speedway Stout - AleSmith Brewing Company
    Susan - Hill Farmstead Brewery
    Backwoods Bastard - Founders
    Zombie Dust - FFF

And I think there was still a bottle or two left over of some other stuff, things got a little hazy at the end of the night.

I would have come, had my wife's birthday celebration not been happening yesterday.
Getting stinko on craft beer yesterday would have been taking my life in my hands.

Same, I got roped into the Sister-in-law's birthday get-together in Richmond. Now I've missed two of these events and feel like a d-bag.

Wow, am surprised to see Brute on the list. Been hankering for it since I heard they don't make it anymore. Did consider going last night, but am very new to the BA environment so I felt like a uber-noob. Maybe next time

So it looks like these tasting will be stopping. The group of tasters collectively left one dollar for the guy who was waiting on them from 5pm till 11pm. He also was nice enough to bring a brute from his own collection. I appreciate the few samples of beer but I was the guy cleaning up after all of you, filling pitchers, and bringing food to you. This is my job it's how I pay for rent and college. It might be better if you just do it at someones house from now on.

It was a great time on Sunday and I'd like to thank Smoke & Barrel for hosting it. I sympathize with the tipping situation, but I think this was at least partially due to the fact that the first server ensured everyone ordered a beer and some food and closed everyone out when he left. He actually left my beer off my tab, which I corrected and tipped $5 on a $14 bill. The rest of the night I believe we only ordered 2 $5 nacho plates one of which I tipped 20% on and others may have considered sharing the beer an appropriate method of tipping. The Brute was much appreciated and I hope we get the opportunity to make it up to you next time.

I frequent smoke & barrel quite frequently and always drop a decent amount of money drinking the beers they have on draft and the food and have great conversations with the bartenders tending...And I always tip the bartender serving me those beers...So it kinda sucks that you would say S&B will stop hosting these things even though there are many regulars of the bar at those tastings.

hope yall reconsider, and sorry bro you felt jipped. Next time you're bartending I'll hook you up
