I'm in the process again of brewing a new bear. This will be a Belgian, likely a dubbel, and I am looking for some creative names for me beer. What names have people used in the past? Or does anybody have ideas for names they plan to use in the future?

Usually I use pop culture references for my different beer names, but this one is stumping me.

Hmmm. If only there were a common English word that sounds exactly like "dubbel" that you could riff on. Your question is twice as difficult than most.

My Belgian ale would be "My Belgian Ale". Anything much more creative is 2x trouble for my feeble brain.

There are a number of Belgian beers that have Devil related names (e.g., Duvel, Lucifer, Satan,…).

How about taking an opposite approach and go angelic with naming your beer.

    One example:

    “Charmeine: Angel of harmony.”

    Cheers!

Is there a reason you need to name your beers?
Occasionally a name for mine will come up - but more often it'e "my Dubbel," or "citra IPA."
I'm not marketing it anywhere, so I don;t need any catchy names or artwork.

You named it with your typo when you wrote you were brewing a bear. The Flemish word for bear is beer. When you tell everyone the name of your beer is Beer, you'll be laughing on the inside. Or if you don't like the Flemish word for bear (the sharpness of my wit will eventually kill someone) you can go with Latin, because nothing says sophisticated like speaking a dead language: Ursidae or Ursine or Ursa Major or Ursa Minor or Ursula or Ursa ursa (because it is a dubbel). If you want to dubbel down (see what I did there?), you can tell me there was no typo, and you were actually soliciting opinions on bear-themed beer names.

Yeah, skimming probably wasn't needed to see if that one was already suggested.
