I moved to NY in 77 and McSorleys Ortlieb version was a mainstay for me.

When I moved from California to Chicago in 75, I definitely thought the LA brewed Andeker was inferior to the Milwaukee version (I did a blind taste test which suggested that). The Milw. beer was fantastic on tap in Chicago. East Coast Andeker might have also been a poor relative of the Milwaukee product.

FW Wookey Jack & Pale 31, Oskar Blues Deviant Dales & Gubna, Odell Rawah Rye IPA are ones I would be happy to see come back. Founders Red’s Rye IPA and Sierra Nevada’s Porter & Stout are beers I wish I could find in my area.

Old Foghorn. I haven’t seen it in Michigan in many years.

I’d also like to see a return of Project PAM.

I got growlers of ESB, Rasta Rye, or BP Pale Ale at the old brewery. Little known was that card-carrying Amer. Hombrew Assn. members got $2 off, so a growler was $8 or $9 (sometimes had to remind beertenders). Also 3 free tastes if desired.

Oh wow, yeah, I totally forgot about the three free tastes! I see that they’re canning the rastafarye and putting them out in 15 pks. I’d love to revisit that beer, it’s been awhile.

I have found the transition from Mark and Pete and Pete's dog to ABInbev has been detrimental to my enjoyment of Blue Point beer. My son brought me a bottle of Rasta Rye today, and I just opened it. In fact it tastes good. I think there might be a little more alcohol taste (it's 7.6%) than in the Mark and Pete version. I never reviewed the old version, but posted a review of the new today.

I mentioned Smutty Durty and Victory Yakima Glory on the previous page but let me add Kuhnhenn Double Rice IPA to that. I don’t know where that beer went but it was delicious. I haven’t seen it in years.

    Blight Buster - flagship IPA
Non-Stop Hop Onslaught - 4% session IPA, that drinks like 6.5% +/- due to some oats & wheat

Yeah, I saw that once, for growler fill, 3?yrs ago.Got it 3? times, til the keg kicked. Haven't seen it since. Took some getting used to (DRY! finish) , but fantastic, once the mind & palate got adjusted.
1st time : got home with it one Friday evening,mid-July, still 93F, with a bad storm chasing right behind. Sat on the porch with it , watching the show . When the storm was over, went to go inside, with about 50oz gone , & Whoa!!!  Good stuff!!! :fire::beers::whale:

it was a single release so perhaps it doesn't wholly qualify but this was incredible and I still think of it often! Thank goodness I was smart enough to drive all over and buy in bulk while supplies lasted. [IMG]

Love to see the Good Nature reference! I have two daughters at Colgate now and a third going next year. Good Nature is always a stop when we go up and visit. Good beer, good food, good people.

They were canning it as recently as 2019? maybe even last year that I had some. Absolutely amazing beer for sure.
