I would like to submit this ruling to the appeals court, please. There’s NO WAY I could be this wrong.

I meant to mention your last point in my post over there talking about the participation. There are some times that I just can't bring myself to be in front of the computer anymore right now. It was a lot easier back in the summer and fall when I could get out of the house more often during the week. After spending over two months hiding inside from not only Covid, but the weather as well, is definitely making me itch to do more away from my couch.

Oh, and I also love the added day because it takes a little pressure off of me if my wife decides that there is something in particular she wants to do on Sunday.

I was finished with this whole thing but since you brought it up I dont want to be misconstrued. In no way was I "upset" about the NBW being 2 days. I thought the thread had slowed down and that was my original comment. Due to everyone expressing their opinion I realize this was certainly not the case. So I apologize if I came off as pissed off. Was definitely not my intention at all. Change is almost always good and as one that is certainly not going to stand in the way of progress Im sincerely happy to hear the 2 days work better for everyone. Has the vibe changed? Possibly. But people change and so do participants. So thats not necessarily a bad thing. Anyway sorry it seemed like I had bad intentions. Was not the case.

Wasn't really calling anyone out in particular, and I think all feedback is constructive! My thoughts were really just that maybe the thread has slowed down, but for perhaps non-negative reasons. Cheers, buddy.

For the Joe 6-pack LIF, be sure to examine others' guesses and my responses to them!

Same to you. Unfortunately I am still on the fence on this next BIF so I dont want to get involved quite yet. I was a hard no until I heard your story. Ive shipped out a couple boxes recently and financially I have to be careful because Im not back to work full time until mid April. These last few months have been challenging to say the least.
    Cheers and Peace.

Glad it made it safely....12 days in transit in a box that was busting at the seams had me worried!

You didn’t come off as pissed off, my beer nerd friend, you came off as observant, IMHO.

More serious reply: I think there are a number of factors, and @JayORear hit on one of them. For me, I'm actually more active than I was back in the waning days of NBS (as I mentioned in the thread). Making sure I made it through all of NBS was important to me, but I just didn't want to be a slave to the computer - so I often caught up on Monday or Tuesday, which meant that I wasn't interactive.

With the expansion to Saturday, not only can I get to more beers (if I choose, or just pace myself better!), I actually keep up with the thread almost in real time, and I'm more active once again in conversation.

Part of the loss of feel? The loss of people. Maria no longer posts on BA, and that was before NBW. Dave had to quit beer entirely for a while - and he still posts on the thread! Some people just haven't been as active, or left after a long time - Malty and Matt didn't exactly post weekly come year 15 of the thread, after all.

The way I see it, we've been building a new active user base in NBW, and this BIF is a successful part of that. I hope - and expect! - the activity to tick back up soon. But if it doesn't? I'm with Terry: I prefer quality over quantity. If we want to have discussions over the beer, that's on us, not some magical discussion fairy.
