First untappd checkin at the taproom suggests it is an old ale, so could be anniversary or perhaps a blend of some kind.

ISO a Hoarder member not using their +1 card.

A guy graciously picked up my remaining bottles from my last year in Hoarders and all he wants is the HS pour access and 20% off. He already has the card just needs the name of an active Hoarder. Please PM me.

Normally I wouldn't care, but Pasas was such a let down for me that I really don't want another old ale with a bunch of adjuncts right now.

This past weekend I opened a Mai Zombie and did something I’ve never done with a beer ever – I poured it over ice and enjoyed it like a cocktail – and it was great! Very impressed. I even convinced my non-beer drinking wife that it was a rum cocktail, and she enjoyed it too! Cheers!

Really curious about thin mint. The last mint beer had a toothpasty spearmint flavor but I’ve always thought a good peppermint chocolate beer must be possible. Could this be it?

hoping someone tries it on tap asap and lets us know. Share This: Mint was an abomination.

    Drinking Creme bruelay now: awesome.

As some of you pointed out, Piearesquare is a blended ale, however Untappd style choices can be limiting. The base beer blend, while not exactly the same, is very similar to Mélange Noir. So Black Tuesday, barleywine, and Anniversary along with our fruit pie filling flavors. Both beers are tasting excellent and I highly recommend.

    Cheers!

As pastry-stout-averse individual, how heavy is the fruit pie filling in the equation? I certainly enjoy a nice restrained amount of complimentary fruit flavors in my stouts, but I don’t want a sugar bomb.

Tried thin mint today and thought it was very good. I'll start by saying I'm not a huge fan of mint chocolate chip, or thin mint girl scout cookies. It had a nice blend of chocolate and mint on the nose, taste was much more cacao, with mint being present but not overpowering. Barrel was present in a good way as well. The finish I got much more of the mint. Big mint chocolate on the finish, waited a few minutes before I tried a different beer and I could still taste mint chocolate chip. Overall I was happy that the mint wasn't the dominate flavor but it was still very much there.

Had this today and it was a winner. Ton of huckleberry and blueberry on the taste, with the vanilla being there as well. As someone who's not a big fan of sweet beers this was almost at the tipping point of being too sweet for me. Any more and it would have been too much. Can see how some might think its too sweet but I thought it was great.

Did it strike you as more on the stout or Barleywine side of the spectrum?

    Much more of a stout.

Opened a 2020 Chocolate Reign. This tastes exactly like I was hoping it would be.

Enjoying the final quarter of the Portified I opened one month ago. It's fantastic, the best of the four pours. Just super smooth rich and mellow. My perception of its sweetness has subsided quite a bit... not sure if that's objective or subjective. Ideally I'll open my other bottles a month before I plan on drinking them:wink:

I finally got my January and February allocations and a few leftovers from 2020. I'll give my thoughts on a few.
Mash PB and J:. Has all the flavors advertised, but the beer itself seemed off as a whole. It was as if it was watered down and overly thin for Mash, very little flavor came from the base beer. It was ok but not outstanding.

Mai Zombie: Is as advertised, it drinks like a cocktail. I was surprised at how much it wasn't like drinking a beer, this thing is packed with flavor! The Bruery did a great job with this beer, if you like Mai Tai's. This beer just wasn't in my wheelhouse for flavors.

Love Bites: Is as solid as last years version. I would say the strawberry is more prominent this year, which I think is a good thing. Very good.

Ruekeller Dunkel:i Is a solid Dunkel style and I really enjoyed it, had a good body and a nice bready finish.

Creme Bruelay: I can't say enough good things about this beer, it was everything I was hoping for, nice vanilla tones with a subtle caramel/dulche de leche finish. Outstanding!

Portified: This is just plain ridiculous, just wow! I like port wine and this beer definitely blurs the line between beer and wine.

This is great! Thanks for sharing. I would not had the courage to wait a month. LOL. If it comes back in a cellar sale, I'll have to go back and order more.
