If anyone is coming down for Friday that lives in town in Traverse City I'd appreciate it if you can mule a 6 pack or so up to my sister and a friend up there. I will be there on Fri and will have it in my car ready to go. Just need a lift up north. thx

Another thing Chicago BAs ruined for the rest of us.

I am pretty sure they have the cure for cancer, but are hoarding it to try to trade for HOTD Dave and M.

Not really a cure, just a vaccine to keep you from getting it. Let us know when you're ready to trade....

Busy this week though. We're working to raffle off one bottle from each of our cellars to avoid the fiscal cliff...

I think braggot was an exception at (if I remember) $16

Funny, saw some from last year's release at Siciliano's a few weeks back, going for under $10 a pop.

grab it! i bet it wont be that cheap this year. Im pretty sure I paid $16 but that was this summer, well after release but before it won at GABF. As soon as it medaled at GABF what was left (and there was some still) sold out.

I didn't, but my buddy cleaned off the shelf. Brewery was completely sold out (other than draught pours), so it was pretty surprising to see Siciliano's still have (at least) ~1/2 dozen hanging around.

Was less than $16. I'm pretty sure was only $10 at the solstice last year. At most, it was $12.

Bourbon barrel braggot was 16 or 17 at the summer solstice last year. Regular braggot was probably 10 at the solstice but 7 or 8 dollars at Champanes down the road (and still there throughout the summer)

So honestly, when are people showing up for this? 5am? 9pm the night before? What's really going down?

Honestly, you don't really need to show up until they open to get what you want. As mentioned in previous posts in the thread, most everything (except Cherry Oude Bruin, which was the first thing to go, and was gone sometime in the afternoon) was still available by the evening and for days, weeks, and even months afterwards including BA4D, and BBBW. Although, the Barley Wine lasted only a few weeks. BA4D was around until the middle of May. And they eliminated any bottle sharing. So, there really is no incentive to show up super early.
I arrived last year at around 6pm and was able to get everything they had (minus the Bruin).

    Famous last words.....

I know BB4D was available for months because I was buying cases months after the release. I am just not taking any chances this year. Not after the DH party

If you want the Raspberry Eisbock, I'd show up before 6pm. When? Beats me. But before 6pm. Probably before noon.

Still debating my attendance. I have to work, but since its the last day before Christmas shutdown I will likely be able to get out by 1 and could get there by 1:45. Question is, should I?

Shhh. Trying to keep the hype monster sleeping. And, yeah, your probably right, but i have to work (in mid-town) all day, and don't have enough time to make it out for lunch. I would love to grab a few bottles for sure. But i don't think i'll have the time. So, this forces me to go home and eat some food before i do some heavy drinking. Also, i just realized, this is on a friday, so it will allow more people to come in town for the weekend. F**k

After KBS and Dark Horse, I don't know if anyone can tell you what a "good time" is to get there to ensure yourself of stuff you really want. BB4D will probably be the only sure thing. If you have to have something, I'd suggest getting there as early as you can. Either way, the party is a ton of fun.
