Well,...it was not like those blue ice pops had all that great of a flavor so...

    Cheers!

On those rare occasions when my parents would purchased a pack of assorted ice pops the flavors of cherry, orange, etc. would be consumed first and the last pops would be the 'blue' flavored ice pops. You would have been happy growing up in my family since you would have no 'battles' for the 'blue' pops.

    Cheers!

Exactly! Everyone has their personal taste and know what they would bother seeking out. It's interesting seeing how far people go regarding trying different things with beer - I just know personally I would never really be interested in this. Maybe it's just a generational thing?

Looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen, marketing to kids.

I don't think they're good, but I am not a sweets person. Had a can of Evil Twin's It was His Birthday and They Didn't Even Care Blue Sour IPA and it was like drinking simple syrup. But I know other people like it, so good for them and godspeed.

But while we're on it, why don't we think of some other non-beer drink flavors that someone could tackle:
    Surge soda flavored beer
    Moxie flavored beer
Lil' Hug purple drink flavored beer
Crystal Pepsi clear beer (but not just hard seltzer)

    The ideas are endless...

That will be a hard pass for me ... kool-aid is an OK ingredient for punches and cocktails ... fahgetaboutit for beer!

I never had Kool aid beer before. I would like to try some. I wish they have root beer flavor, too.

    Fruit beer
Beginning with Belgian lambics, fruit beers are a long-standing tradition. Goses and fruits added to Berliner Weisses are also common. Kool Aid? No thanks but I wonder how many are equating Kool Aid and ANY fruit beer.

I will gladly try some blue Romulan ale but there are just too many of these candy-ass beers infesting the shelves lately and they just keep coming.

Odd. Why would anyone take a dead ordinary, junk-sugar-and-food-dye drink from grade school to corrupt a grown-up pleasure like actual beer? Were there any adults in the room during the brainstorming session? I'm all for (mostly) the tortured puns that brewers dream up for their "honest" beers, but not the tortured flavor profile of some powdered-candy drink. All signs here point to no-go. If you like Kool-Aid beer, ask for it at Chuck E. Cheese next time you load up the tykes for a meal out -- maybe your server will present it with a stripey straw.

As noted in the original post, they used fruit puree to mimic Kool-Aid colors and flavors.

If you're interested there are several root beers listed under Herb & Spice (https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/styles/8).

Please don't hesitate to join in the conversations or ask questions.
Stop by the daily What Beer Are You Drinking Now (WBAYDN) and weekly New Beer Weekend (NBW) threads.

BTW, there's a porter tasting this Friday & Saturday if you're interested in that style. https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/online-tasting-porters-march-12-13.655906/

IF these are made with real fruit, and appear unfiltered... I might try one...
