NBS BIF #13: Peninsular Envy 2 (The Rocket-Ball Inception)

My aunt lived in rural Pierce county, kinda near Puyallup and Sumner. Her window had a fantastic view of Mount Rainier. When I was 7, on a certain weekend in May, 1980, my family was visiting her and we noticed that morning a strange, gray spiral cloud wrapped around Mount Rainier, almost all the way to the summit. Later that morning, we discovered that Mt. St. Helens had erupted, and we'd all be staying an extra day at that house.

 

I'm out. Still, you can feel free to send me beers from Fremont. Any that I don't have to buy for myself are always appreciated.

interesting side note- Joel has been brewing for four years. I stopped by his place to pick up the beers I had orders , no brewing , no casks, just music equipment . He is the monitors road manager for Darius Rucker when they tour...has been to Belgium three times. Obviously took some very good notes



traded beers with bearded iris brewmaster / owner Paul Vaughn . He graciously gave me a tour and I told him what I was doing in this BA Bif. He used to do Bif himself and he hand selected these beers for you . What you are not getting is a collaboration beer with creature comforts, burial and other half . He poured me a glass , it didn’t last long

My state contains at least two peninsulas. Maybe more, if your definition of peninsula is loosely defined.

 

Is Michigan's thumb considered a peninsula?

By many, but not the first one that comes to mind- that would be the Leelenau - up by Traverse City, which has more than one all by itself.

I’ll second that- he’s sent me beer before and he doesn’t go easy on porches. And I wasn’t even his target!

 

Washington is the same way. The Kitsap Peninsula grows off the Puget Sound side of the Olympic Peninsula. In fact, up where @BBThunderbolt lives, Washington waters are violated by a Canadian peninsula.

Paul Vaughn is a genuinely nice guy. I asked him if I could grab a picture of him for my BA post and Target and he said , “ I prefer not, it’s a team effort that is the success of Bearded Iris” he then gave me a bottle of his special anniversary beer, Flourescent . I have plans for that one...
