Scary Russian dude beats a baby eating oatmeal easily! Just kidding, I love them both.

I know of zero reasons not to drink at least one KBS every single day.

As others have said . . . different styles. I scored FBS higher than OR but I love both and consider them to be one of the best in their styles.

While anyone can prefer one over the other they are different style with different characteristics. Each is an outstanding example. I love them both.

FBS for me by a long shot. I personally prefer oatmeal stouts over Russian Imperial. Cheers!

Both are good. I’ll pick old rasputin every time. I don’t support founders anymore. Even if I did, I’d still choose rasputin

Agree with the consensus here that Old Rasputin is a more complete beer. FBS is delicious and fine for an occasional treat-yo-self beer, but could not drink it regularly without having to get on the American insulin bandwagon.
Kidding aside, Old Rasputin is better and probably the best imperial beer I've had.

    Not wrong at all

But there is "something" to Rasputin being good to go, if not better, after 3yrs+ on a warm shelf or cellar, where as FBS's coffee will no doubt get a bit vegetal after 18 months or so.

I really do think FBS (and KBS now that it's a shelfie) deserve every bit of their 100 World-Class scores. But for me - Old Rasputin covers all of the bases: is good fresh or aged, warm or cold, date time - night time - anytime. Of course Founder's Imperial Stout would be more of a fair fight.

I am consistently amazed that while pale hoppy beers fall off after ~30-60 days, RIS somehow get even better. And I realize that Rasputin's hopping regimen is less like a modern IPA and more like SNPA - which I don't think gets dramatically worse even if you stumble on a 6 month old bottle - But it is a very unique scenario to start as amazing - and yet still maintain or marginally improve with more time in bottle.

No surprise my favorite beers are the classic, relatively cheap but good for aging brews: Bigfoot, Expedition, Storm King, Founders Imperial Stout, Plead the Fifth, base BCBS, Old Stock Ale, Olde School, etc.

this is a tough one. As has been pointed out already they are different styles, for me it comes down to which one I prefer within the confines of each ones respective style.

While I really enjoy both beers for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is their availability, I would have to say I like FBS better as compared to other oatmeal stouts than I do Old Raspy compared to other RIS's.

Honestly I have to agree. I think Old Rasputin is just more versatile and drinkable. If I had to pick one beer for the rest of my life, it’s Old Rasputin. To be fair, they aren’t really comparable but ya know.

Agreed. Founders Imperial Stout is/was my favorite stout. I have one bottle left at this point.
