I've eliminated 6 of you as possible senders ... so I still have 20 possible senders ...:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    Tough slogging so far ...

Anyway, time for a hint from me ...

Hint #9: Until I turned 15, every summer my family took the same vacation to this Southern state. I was never much for golf, but I loved visiting the Ward house. If you live in this state, you are not my target.

It was unopened? I don't want to be a debbie downer or some liquor snob, but I don't see how it is any different now than it would have been if it was opened in 1973. Spirits don't continue to age once they're put in a bottle as far as I know...

It is cool drinking something bottled that long ago though. I really don't want to come across like a dick, just curious if anybody else has had experience with something like that.

I'm no liquor expert, but my understanding is that generally its the quality of the offerings that can differ greatly. A lot of these old whiskies were made before the brands sold out or in the case of this bottle - its from the old crown royal distillery that burned down. Its more the historical interest than any great monetary value.

Ok that makes total sense. I'm sure the recipe is different now compared to what it was back then. Very cool either way. I wouldn't turn it down haha.

Spirits don't age in the sense of their age statement, but there can be slight differences in the product in an old bottle vs a new one.

It was mentioned already that the recipe or production might have changed, and of course there's going to be batch variation that might be much more noticeable between two batches half a century removed, rather than a month removed, from each other.

There's also the fact that while "aging" in the sense of "developing" won't happen, things like evaporation and oxidation do take place in the bottle, which also can have an impact (not necessarily a positive one, but perhaps a noticeable one)

Oxygen is always your enemy, as is evaporation. Time isn’t a friend to most things once you pop the top, once it’s out of the barrel any development stops.

Will my target's box contain any Fox Farm beer? 100% yes. Will one of these recent releases be included? Probably, but which one?

It was with heavy hearts that we learned of the passing of Dave Witham, founder of Proclamation Ale Company, late last year. With his vibrant personality and infectious energy he has left an indelible mark on the beer scene here in New England and beyond.

Our friends Craft Collective, together with Dave’s wife Lori and the crew at Proc, organized a collaborative brewing initiative which they have graciously allowed us to take part in. All of the proceeds from these beers will be going towards a 529 plan for Dave and Lori’s daughter Harper. This week we're proud to share our interpretation of Second Derivative.

Based on the original Derivative recipe we were asked to devise our own hopping regiment for Second Derivative. With his "all-out, no Plan-B, go-for-it approach” in mind we brought in two hop varieties we have yet to share in a beer - El Dorado and Zappa (a little nod to Dave’s love of music). To round it out and pull things together we also added a bit of Strata.

Våronna, Norwegian for "Spring Work", is a beer meant to honor the coming of Spring and all the soul nourishing work it brings. Made with Connecticut-grown ingredients including: sweet gale from our land, spruce tips from Tiny Acre Farm (Woodstock, CT), Thrall Family Malt (Windsor, CT), Fox Hollow Hops (Colchester, CT) and our own well water. Fermented and foeder-aged with a combination of our own house culture and Voss kveik, a unique Norwegian farmhouse yeast strain.

Brewed in July 2020, we designed Echos with the intention of presenting core qualities from our high-gravity, spirit barrel-aged beers in a format that delights and surprises in its drinkability. Made with a carefully assembled blend of base and specialty malts from a range of our suppliers (spanning Germany, UK and US), wildflower honey from @stonewallapiary and hopped with some favorite German varietals. We fermented this one low and slow with our lager yeast and cold conditioned in stainless for 8-weeks before transferring a portion (~60%) to Buffalo Trace barrels. The stainless and oak-aged components were blended back together prior to packaging early this year.

I will only ship UPS. I've had terrible luck with Fedex lately.
Like this post if you would like some bourbon samples included in the box.

Hint #8: In my hint #5, I said that with a certain finessing, my target could be related to Tony Soprano. With a similar kind of finessing, my target could similarly be "related" to Peter Gabriel.

Hint-hint: as those who've followed my LIFs know, I'm very particular about my word choices, including the fact that, above, "related" is in quotes in one instance, and not in quotes in the other.
