Never been to Europe or anything, but this is the best pilsner I've ever had.

I've been to Germany three times. This on draft and The Standard on draft are the best pale lagers I've had in the US off the top of my head.

I'd LOVE to go to the Czech Republic.

Seriously. I'm on vacation next week and want to stock up on Notch and way easier for me to drive up today than tomorrow.

In the last half hour today, it’s on their instagram stories of more being bottled/packaged in progress.

Jacob who works in the Pilsner Urquell cellar brewery will hook you up.

P.S. And then later a visit to Na Parkanu Pub for that same unfiltered & unpasteurized PU beer from that same pitch lined barrel:

Sorry to interrupt the PLP love fest. Does anyone know how long mild’s take to brew? My understanding is they are “mild” because they don’t rest long at all. Can you tell I really want that beer?

Ok carry on with the lager love.

Just a homebrewer who's read a few Ron Pattinson books, but yes, my understanding is that mild was consumed fresher, though that term is relative. I'd expect a typical ale turnaround for one brewed today, perhaps a smidge faster due to the lower abv (not that mild was always low abv) but that would be dependent on when the brewer thought the beer was ready regardless.

Just ordered the max of PLP. Already have a 1:1 trade setup for PtY.

Wouldn't that be something... I got one bottle in my subscription box.. I was so excited for this beer that it would have taken something truly special for me to trade it.

Wow, that’s awesome that someone would trade a legendary IPA for a lager. Lagers are movin’ up in the world.

I might make the bold claim that there isn’t anything more special and unique in the US right now. You’d have to go to Plzen to get something similar.

    Picked up 4 bottles myself.

Only four bottles per. Think it’s time to get grandma ready to mule for me...

But anyway, my Grandmother is 101, was born in 1920 and remembers prohibition. She vividly recalls that her father fermented some kind of concoction in their home when she was a child. She believes it was beer.

@ChrisLohring, is the sale tax I was charged for on the PLP bottles an oversight?

I have not previously been charged sales tax on beer to go anywhere in MA, including Notch.

I very well could be missing something.
