Morning advocates and bonjour ami belge... not sure if you’re a Wallon or a Flemish. Either way, dank je for starting the thread.

Currently drinking Duvel Tripel Hop Citra...

    À la votre and cheers!

What do you call that nice looking plate o' food. Looks downright southern American, like biscuits and gravy. Yum...

That’s fair. Spent some time in Flemish land before COVID-19, in De Panne and Veurne so the coast. Very neat areas. I love a Belgian vacation now and then. For the beers of course but not only.

[IMG] Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass bottled on 2/12/2021. Pours a very hazy yellow with a half finger white head that leaves thin streaks of lace, with solid retention. 4.5

Aroma is tangerine, pineapple, passionfruit, and apricot really bold at only 5.5% ABV.

Taste follows tangerine, pineapple, passionfruit, and apricot really balanced and intense considering the reasonable ABV. 4.5

Mouthfeel is a solid medium, not dry or sticky, soft creamy carbonation, and it drinks bigger than it should but really goes down easy. 4.5

Overall this is without a doubt the best under 6% NEAPA I have ever had. I could drink this one all the time and can my total hop fix. 4.5

Cross post with my review in the New Beer Sunday #838 thread, within the thread called New Beer Weekend. This is an OK Irish Red Ale brewed out of Michigan, with honey added, the most prominent flavor.

    Saugatuck Brewing Maggie's Irish Ale

This is a neutral beer, light, the honey and sweet caramel and bread come through. Light and easy. OK over all.

Hope your Sunday will go nice and easy as well. Back with two more from 1969, as we begin another new day.

Grandmas Garden - Outstate Brewing - Fergus Falls, MN - Kettle Sour - 5% ABV -
This would have been a good New Beer Weekend beer, however we got samples of this at work when it was delivered on Thursday. Damn good.

My target in the NBW BIF is going to get a can of this beer. It needs more reviews. Heck, I'm only the 2nd on Untapped, and the first here.

    4.23/5 rDev 0%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.25

Pours a nice golden color, with a hint of red in it. There's a 1 1/2 finger off white head. It's got good retention, but no lacing on the glass.
The aroma is a very nice and strong rhubarb aroma. Very pleasing.
Taste - full on rhubarb. It starts out slightly sweet, then it turns into a very pleasing sour.
Crisp and clean feeling. The tartness lingers in my throat.
    Solid sour from Outstate.

Have a good Sunday. Worked another 8+ and chilling at home. Went by pretty fast. GF coming back tonight. Interesting story for you today. Last night some woman comes in yelling at the door about losing her phone somewhere, cuts people in line, and lights me up and I just take it to my face. She was yelling about Turkish cigarettes or something and never told me that it was Camel Blue 99, which aren't even the Turkish ones. Then I rung her up at the register and she had to pay with a card and a $5. "you figure it out" when I asked about it. Also mentioned 'sorry that she's a bitch and I will have to deal with it' or something along those lines. So she goes to pump the gas and the PD Captain comes in the back and I tell him "You missed all the fun!" And then he and Officer C corner her in the pump lot. Turns out she caused a ruckus at a bar and got the cops called and they already were looking for her with her phone in their hand, and it just happened to be at my gas station . That Captain always comes in every night to get his free police polar pop, and we end up shooting the shit about food and grilling/smoking. He gave some recommendations for some electric smokers, so I am shopping around. Unfortunately the IRS is dragging their ass for over a month now. So I can't have nice things yet.

The sub dinner was great as usual. It was right after the verbal assault on me lol[IMG]

I got it in Drop A still. Pretty good for a lot of metal bands. There is a Leprous Song in that I found the tabs for. Other ones I want to deal with are Drop G (New guitar and heavier strings) and A# F A# D# F A# D#. which Tesseract and Shokran use sometimes. I wish everyone used the same tuning lol.

I love the Westmalle, one of these days I'll get back to Belgium!

Just setting up to bottle our next batch of Old Peculiar, I'd better fortify myself with some IPA.

Well! Hard to follow up on @superspak 's night's adventures! Best I can do is we made it back OK from my beer run to Gd Rapids with some brews for BIF 13 (Haul hint, sort of), with a lupper stop at TBK Strongville and some more shippable brews. Other than some mild panic with 100 miles of idiot lights lit, really a nice drive home. A couple of boxes should be leaving Mon or Tues at the latest, LIF and Box #1 BIF 13. Today's New Breakfast Beer and NBS entry:

Mornin' all - kinda ghosted yesterday as I hosted another "gentlemen's club happy hour" in the backyard, all of us at least with a dose of vaccine (some with both), and it was glorious.
So this morning, getting primed for EPL with a little new batch of TRVE Lower Saison.
For 2.8%, I really like this, and it has a really nice profile to it. Saison Lite!
    Cheers.

Happy Sunday BA's and the first full day of spring...glorious weather yesterday and more in store today and the next week...loving it! Did my second load of laundry and grocery shopping done, after another sunrise hike with Emma...may venture down to Fresno OH to visit Wooly Pig again later this afternoon....
Big question....why do breweries put these big ass beers in 16 oz can format? Wouldn't an 8 or 10 oz can be better for most people?

    Anyhoo....enjoying part of this one...

[IMG] Interesting cream ale from local guys, DUBCO. Pretty tasty, the adjuncts are more subtle than in your face but a good beer to start what should be a beautiful day.

My new “old” favorite song. Can’t stop listening to it.
