#2 - My targets state touches a large body of water.
#3 - I have been in my targets county, and I am trying to remember if I've been in her/his town.
#4 - My targets town was/is home to a minimum of 1 Olympic Gold Medal winner.
#5 - My target lives in one of the below states.
#6 - A product and a service that the vast majority of us have used also calls my targets city home.
#7 - If the Interstate Highway closest to you is I-"Number Tony Stewart had his first few years in NASCARs top Division", you are not my target.
#8 - There is no Big 10 school in my targets state.
#9 - There is no Big 12 school in my targets state.

Ha, the first car I ever bought was from some dude in the town I think you are referring to here.
I was a much younger and much more naive man back then, and oh boy there was a whole saga that unraveled around and through that thing...

 

I'm thinking these hints, like @Roguer's, are meant for at least two people . . . and that you say you're leaving hints for "each of ya," it sounds like you're addressing me directly. And your odd-numbered hints all fit me, but I need to spend more time with this last one before deciding what to do . . .

 

I expect to hear this story in its entirety at some point during this BIF.

 

So we did a little shopping yesterday...



As for the story of the vehicle... It doesn't really convert to text post as well as one would like.
Suffice to say though, that I learned many things from that experience: for example, how to fix an engine in the backwoods of northern california and southern oregon in the middle of the night using whatever a recent-college-grad would have in all of their packed up belongings, I learned that a printed off 'title of ownership' is not a real thing, I learned not to steal road signs/notifications, I learned that when your breaklines break on the highway, be grateful for uphill offramps and late night intersections with no traffic, and I learned how shitty it is to try and navigate a uhaul with a trailer hauling another vehicle through the backstreets of the SF hills, and that they don't fit on the inside lanes of gas stations much better.

Also, sometimes an impound lot really is your best friend and a tidy bow.

The odds are even that you're on the right track.

 

At this point, my sender is one of two of you who are actively participating, or one of a few others who aren't. On the other hand, I guess that covers everybody.

As am I. I think. I saw some clues that I was positive referred to me, but then others that were distinctly telling me I was wrong. So what do I know now? A number of people who are *not* my sender and a smaller, yet not too small, number who may be.
I'm pretty certain there was a conspiracy or something!

 

I wouldn't be surprised if @Roguer were the puppet master behind such a conspiracy.
