NBS BIF #13: Peninsular Envy 2 (The Rocket-Ball Inception)

Hyper local? Like something you brewed in the basement?

 

Sending someone my few attempts at homebrewing would not be a friendly act.

 

I did this very same thing on Saturday. It is acclaimed by the regulars of the brewery I bought it at, but you'll find no evidence of my ever drinking it.

 

I guess I'd better retire my BB glass, then. I foolishly did not do that with an older one and reaped the tragic consequences.

 

I have 5 or 6 breweries within about 15 minutes of my house. None of them distribute other than an occasional keg here and there. To me that is Hyper Local. Local is all the amazing breweries in Tampa or Jax both about 2hrs from me.

 

I have about 8 breweries like that. The downside is one of them doesn't have good quality control when packaging and the others have, in some cases, over-canned to try to move the beer that would've been consumed in their tap rooms if not for the pandemic, and now those cans are sometimes a bit long in the tooth.

 

I will be looking into this further.

 

Well, I picked up a food item for box #1. It's not my 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice, but the others are all not available except for when I'm at work (except Friday) and one's maker is going out of business after 100+yrs, with timing I am taking personally.
On the plus side, this situation will improve when it's time to send future boxes to my target.

 

Have had good luck with UPS lately. Have you downloaded their app it keeps you really well informed on incoming and out going boxes.

 

Haul Hint: Just had my brother pick up a six pack of a German style I've never tried. It's the first time this brewery has tried the style, but they've won awards for their German beers, so I'm confident it'll be good. I think one may find it's way in the box.

 

I've got five in the hands of USPS and FedEx right now, and I'm watching them way too closely. The anxiety over shipping is the only part of these BIF's I don't enjoy.
