Fort point menu with the “have to buy food” rule. Fuck off with that if you aren’t offering some pretzels or something cheap. Can anyone confirm this?

Cheapest option is $10 edamame hummus? And I do dig hummus but...and I’m not hard of for cash to spend either. But seems like a cash grab. Guess we’ll find out tomorrow when we go

I think Fort Point is supposed to be more of a restaurant and less of a brewery, which might explain the menu.

Isn't this required by state regs due to covid? I don't think they're allowed to serve alcohol without also serving food that's prepared on-site.

We’re here now. We ordered oysters anyway since we wanted them. They screwed up our order(we were chit chatting the server so our fault) but they were like all good. Eat the dozen instead of half. We had bought a half and wanted six more. But ended up with 12 more! Brought us tastes of streets, streets on streets, dusk tril dawn and we order NFPPA, scaled, coconut pm dawn and Franklin. All were excellent. Nelson fort point was another fucking level. Absolutely delicious. We were the first here and seated at noon. It filled up within 20 minutes outside and some open inside. Excellent experience and if they are pushing the food rule I haven’t necessarily seen it. I guess I just wish they had something less than $10 for anyone who just wants a quick beer. But I get it’s a state thing.

Great day, and Brad here was a great server. Hope everyone else has a great experience

You're at the wrong brewery and in the wrong neighborhood for that kind of pricing.

Glad you had a good experience though. While I'm no longer a huge fan of Trillium, I'm happy they made it through the worst of the pandemic and seem to be doing well.

it’s all good. I worked around the corner before and my office actually is a block over I just work from home so very familiar. The rule will be gone soon. This batch of Nelson Fort point

I do miss the days of samples at the old brewery from Mrs Trillium

Haha yes, same here. Sampling a few Dry Stack iterations and the original Trillium back when they were pushing the farmhouse brewery thing.

Went to fort point today. Seems like all new staff/menu. Beautiful day. Great taplist right now, especially ipas and sours. The burger was good, but probably not as good as the old burger. Fries were amazing.

We enjoyed our trip but were there early. What time did you go and did you have a wait? Was busy when we left at 1:30

I went just after noon and no wait. It was definitely more crowded when I left then when I got there, but not 100% full.

Dry Stack was really cool. There are definitely styles they improved greatly in as time went on, but Trillium year 1 and 2 were really special and exciting.

I firmly agree with this. I didn’t even think hoppy stuff would be a big deal for them. Also the first time I had sinister kid was a special evening. I do remember the first time they put Fort Point out. That was a really really great day. Also, what was the taproom dudes name who was always there and on point for growler pours and samples in the beanie. Such a nice dude

I want to say Will or William, but since that rhymes with Trillium I'm doubting myself....

First time I went I snagged Dry Stack and Pot and Kettle. That alone shows how much my beer taste didn't revolve around IPAs at that point. That said the tail end of my roommate's growler of Fort Point is definitely what wowed me. Not sure it was b1. Definitely had b1 of Congress and remember being disappointed they didn't have Fort Point haha.

Yea, while i'm lawful neutral on that kinda stuff during covid times, i really hope it doesnt become "brewery policy" or something. Like i've heard of loss leaders, but i would hate if a brewery forced you into a situation like this regardless of dumb MA laws

I would absolutely love a Will update if anyone has one, he was the absolute man. He was a force back way back when, and have a good laugh about him to this day.

The day they came out with Vicinity for the first time they also came out with another IPA hopped with something you don't see too often (I think Polaris?). I ordered a growler of each and they started on the Vicinity fill while asking with a slightly hesitant tone if I wanted to taste the other first. Shit tasted like straight onion and needless to say a growler was not purchased. Imagine them doing that now:grin:
