I’m considering hiring a mystic to explain the “ghost participant” concept to me, but will admit that I’m concerned that I may cross the streams whilst doing so.

My assumption was that the admins would either ship to the ghost themselves or recruit another participant to do it and explain the situation to them. They could still give participate, but with the knowledge that their target would never publicly guess them. In a situation like that some especially perceptive members might figure out what's going on. In the end though I'm not sure it would be worth the headache.
Thanks, much appreciated! I enjoy the photography almost as much as the beer, almost.

This glass from @Dimidiata is fantastic. I love the design and the stem, and it focuses the aromas quite nicely. I need to drink a dark beer from it soon, just so I can see the gold pop. I wash all my glasses by hand, and try to be extra careful with anything that has that metallic finish. @BBThunderbolt sent me a Boundary Bay glass that unfortunately took some scrapes from a particularly course sponge. I love the glass because of the etched bottom, but always look at the logo in shame.

Speaking of @BBThunderbolt, according to tracking the third of his boxes should have been dropped at the post office today.

    Hi NBM!

Tonight’s pour is Foam Brewing Pavement DIPA, provided by @smanson56 from the ‘Bourbon Samples’ LIF (you’ll notice this isn’t a bourbon sample!). Delicious super juicy tropical and citrus fruits, smooth texture, nicely hopped finish - choice DIPA, love it! Thanks!

Evening all. Gonzaga looks like shit, but this beer is great.

Review will be forthcoming, but this beer smells amazing. Its one of those beers you pop it open and immediately get this lovely pungent aroma from the hops. Lovely beer and a great cause. Thanks @Roy_Hobbs.

'Zags fan? I'm not, but I'm always in favor of watching history, so I'm pulling for the undefeated season. :grinning:

I've never had Second Derivative, but the OG Derivative series blew me away. IIPA levels of aromatics and flavor, in an APA package.

Which glass did I send you? The Becher? I didn't go check my mail today, because I've been busy sneezing, coughing, and snotting from my allergies, but I've gotta work tomorrow, so I'll grab it on my way in.

No, not at all, but was hoping to watch history. Nothing against Baylor, just would be cool to see.

One way it could work is someone who may not be interested in receiving/unable to have beer, and enjoys a touch of chaos, may offer to send a box to someone, while not expecting to receive one.

Today turned into a much longer day than I initially expected, but I'm finally back to make sure we see some hauls reported today. First up is the box that I knew was coming from @Dimidiata. She let me know that this box would contain four mystery beers. Something must have happened on the cross country journey because 4 mystery beers turned into 5 with 2 non-mystery beers. And some food products! The 4 canned mystery beers are all the same base with different adjuncts. I'm excited to try to decipher them, but I know I'll miss a few. The 5th mystery beer is a Russian River cork and cage bottle that I'm also super excited to try. Speaking of Russian River, this will be my first taste of Pliny the Elder since 2016 when I had it on draft at Monk's in Philly. I'm sure I'll appreciate it on another level now. Finally, in regards to beer, there's a collab between Urban Roots and Sun King. Summer Life is a bourbon barrel aged summer barleywine. I have no idea what a summer barleywine is, but I'm looking forward to finding out. Whew, that was exhausting, I could use a cup of coffee. Oh, she took care of that, too. Also included was a bag of Modern Times Coffee beans freshly roasted two weeks ago. Hologram Gardens is a blend of 75% Peru Otoniel Abad Rios and 25% bourbon barrel-aged Mexico Tzeltal-Tzotzil. There were also two bars of TCHO dark chocolate - triple berry and almond & sea salt. I can't remember which beer it was off the top of my head, but I've had at least one that specified using TCHO cocoa nibs. It'll be nice to try some of their products. Thanks so much, Christine! I'm equally intimidated by all of the mystery and super excited!

If that wasn't enough, @FBarber also walloped me with some beers made in his backyard and some made in another hemisphere. Japas Cervejaria participated in the recent Extreme Beer Fest, and their Black Miso imperial stout left quite the impression on me and @FBarber. I remember him mentioning that he was able to order some, and I'm grateful for him sharing these cans with me. I've also been raving about Revolution's work since my recent first experiences, and he took care of me in spades there as well. Double Barrel VSOD? This is all very thoughtful and generous, and I can't say thanks enough, man!

Japas Cervejaria - Oishii Witbier with ginger and orange peel
Japas Cervejaria - Matsurika Pilsner with Jasmine flowers
Japas Cervejaria - Kawaii NEIPA with blackberry and raspberry
Japas Cervejaria - Kasato Maru NEIPA with Japanese tangerine
Revolution - Apple Brandy Barrel Ryeway Ryewine aged in Bourbon barrels
Revolution - Mineshaft Gap Barleywine aged in Cognac barrels
Revolution - Thundertaker Imperial Rye Stout aged in Bourbon barrels
Revolution - Double Barrel V.S.O.D. Imperial Stout aged in Bourbon barrels
Revolution x Half Acre - On & On: Part 1 Barrel-Aged Imperial Porter

This is all overwhelming. Thanks so much to both of you!

It was the becher indeed. No need to sweat it or anything, it still performs the most important function.

I have absolutely no doubt about that. Excited doesn't begin to describe it!
I would do that! I may shoot for next weekend's NBW thread, but I'm flexible. I might have done it for the official share date, but I like to save my mystery beers for then. @Dimidiata smacking me with 5 of them will make getting through them all a challenge in itself(4 of them are 11%).

So, spent the weekend with the in-laws, so while I was able to have a beer from @FrankenMiller yesterday, I didn't have the time to give it a full review, unfortunately. Either way, a nice beer on the porch in Kansas.

Back to reviews this weekend for sure.

It's the most amazing $6 barleywine you will ever have. I had a $70 Anchorage "barleywine" 375ml last night, and I wished I had bought three 4-packs of Urban Roots Summer Life instead.
