Up next: D7 West Coast IPA. This beer recipe comes from two of our finest running the brewdeck each and every day, Duncan & Hawk. They wanted CLASSIC and you got it. Vienna and Pale malt base with Simcoe, HBC 735 and CTZ in the dry hop. Bitter and dry to the bone. Piney and mean. IPA for the ages. I wanted to make it a collaboration with @victoryautowreckers because they recently scooped up Hawk’s car from our parking lot, but Duncan came through with the Wipers song, D7. - G⠀

D7 West Coast IPA falls in at an ideal 7.2% abv and will hit our shelves tomorrow, Thursday April 8th. Find it exclusively on Curbside or at our Balmoral Take Away Cafe & Beer Garden.

Looks like we will see a Side Project/ Half Acre, non adjunct BA Stout in the near future. SP is pulling and blending barrels per their Instagram.

That means it’ll be released at Side Project. Bummer. Cool to see though

D7 is solid , the hop profile is definitely there but it drinks a little sweet and boozy for 7%. Reminds me of a three Floyd’s or pipworks dipa , (not that that is a bad thing). It’s always nice to try a new ipa from Half Acre but IMO flatland, space and vallejo were/are better as far as non hazies go.

Glad to see half acre showing up on shelves in Indiana now. That will save me so many pennies on taxes this summer.

Having my second Green Branch now, and surprisingly, I think I prefer Hallow. GB is very good, and has a really nice, smooth body (so hazy fans should really like it), but Hallow really nails that in-between thing that guys like the Alchemist do so well. Kind of awesome that (to me) a $12 year-round beer is holding up to one of their big $20 one-offs.

Both are great, though; I haven't had any HA in a while since I've been trying to broaden my beer and food horizons in the pandemic (and fighting not to broaden my waistline), but it's good to be back! And this is the dangerous time of year where rumblings of Navaja and Beer Hates Astronauts will soon begin...

I liked it. Ran through 3 cans quickly. Not earthy or vegetal, not “spicy” or oniony, but also not citrusy or berry-y. Just its own thing. Not too sweet, not too bitter.

it’s just its own thing.... any questions?

Hey all, I'll be traveling in from out of town soon and Half Acre is on my must visit list. Is the only open location for sit-down the Balmoral location? The Lincoln location is not yet open right? Thanks!

Correct. Lincoln has curbside purchases available, but the bar is closed.

Seems earlier in the year than previous releases? Either way I’m happy!

Cannot believe Half Acre would release BHA on a Friday for which I'm out of town. Never supporting this brewery again.
