Made me sick to my stomach. Mead does it, too. I haven't tried Anna, but that is heartbreaking. I was hoping since it was of higher tier than mead I wouldn't have had an issue, but now I'm sitting on bottles I can't/won't drink.

 

That is very weird and the first I've ever heard of it, and would really suck for me, Anna being one of my favorite beers broadly speaking.

 

Has anyone noticed an uptick in bottles gushing from recent releases (Satsuma, PN#12, quetsche du fermier)? I feel like I've never had any issues with their past releases but now I fear for my white carpet lol

 

How are you handling your bottles?

Cellar to fridge x amount of time before opening, in fridge since purchase...?

If from the fridge in anyway are you letting it sit before opening or popping it within minutes?

 

I’ve only had gushing from Fuzzy b4 375ml bottles. All else (including two bottles of Pulling Nails #12) has been par for course, for sours.

 

LOL, you guys should try opening Fantome bottles sometime. RIP ceiling.

 

Every fuzzy b4 I've opened has gushed and Satsuma did too. No issues with any 750ml bottles. I just have the glass ready when I open the 375s now to be safe

 

I Have yet to have any SP bottles gush on me including black and berry, fuzzy, pulling nails, fruited Fermiers.

everything I have received in the mail sits for a few days in the fridge before being opened

 

This is because people aren’t chilling at exactly 46.78 degrees for 78.34 hours.

 

The first PN12 that I opened gushed and I lost about 1/4 of the contents. First time it happened with any SP bottles so I was not prepared.

 

All my SP bottles are immediately fridged when I get home. Usually darker beers or waxed stuff in my wine fridge (50 degrees) and everything else in my normal fridge. Beers are usually chilled a week or more before being opened, nothing moves or shakes them, opened carefully. Still had 3 gushers recently.

 

They just get really excited to see you.

 

Side Project beers make the best shower beers. Problem solved.
