You know, when I saw Quadruple Flowers I thought of Four Roses, but then saw that it was a blend of stouts and wasn't quite sure. Thanks for the info.
Yeah, I realized that after i posted it. I love that plain bottle.
Fantastic hit! The damage just keeps building! It's times like these I'm glad I'm a renter, so I can just have my landlord tend to the damage. The other bonus is that my landlord's father lives right next door to us and has a Ring doorbell, and texts me as soon as I have a package outside.

One of the best things about these BIFs are the unassuming little brews that act all sweet and innocent, and sandbag your ass. Case in point: this Foeder Aged Coal Hill Dortmunder from Trace Brewing, courtesy @Pinz412 . Two months in the wood, and at first, it's like drinking a piece of oak, then, a bit of beery sweetness, and some floral hops. Fantastic!

It's been a busy and rather exhausting week at work, along with my second Pfizer dose, so I'm finally digging into @Roguer's gargantuan box for bottled stouts. By the standards of the box I'm going lite tonight. LOL! I'm sipping on Cigar City's Element of Reverence, a BBA Stout with pineapple and coconut. Wow! The base Stout is excellent. I've had Marshal Zhukov before and know this brewery is adept at Stouts. There is tobacco, molasses, and raisin. But the pineapple and shaved coconut take it to another level. They are subtle but really flavorful. The mouth feel is killer - super thick and chewy. This is just wonderful. Thanks so much Andrew! I look forward to more from your box this weekend!

Nice to see some reviews flying around in here tonight in addition to boxes still landing. I decided to get a little crazy tonight and go for a mystery beer! This one is mystery beer #2 and clocks in at 11%. @Dimidiata let me know in advance that of the four mystery cans she sent, they were all the same base with different adjuncts. The first pour is in the glass.

It poured a nice deep brown, almost black, with a one inch tan head. I could see a bit of translucence as the liquid poured from the can. Although I let it warm a bit, the initial aromas were purely roasty malt. I'm now at least half way through the glass and I'm getting a very fruity aroma, possibly berries? The taste is a rich and roasty imperial stout. It finishes with a nice bitterness although it's sweet on the palate. I'm really leaning into cherry being one of the berry notes that I'm getting, but I feel like cherry is a crutch of mine for many berries. There is a nice dark chocolate flavor as well. Not sure if that's a flavor addition or if it's coming from the malt. It's strong enough that I think it's added. It has a velvety feel with less sugary stickiness than I would expect. All in all, this is a very nice imperial stout that's very easy drinking for 11%. I want to guess that it's possibly from Modern Times' Beastmaster series only because I know that's a series that they make in many variations. I'm tempted to look up the different varieties they've made to make a specific guess, but that feels like a bit of a cheat. I'm sticking with cocoa and cherry being present, and possibly another berry in the mix but I can't discern it. Some sips also seem to give me a touch of vanilla. Chocolate, vanilla, and berry makes me think of a Neapolitan blend, but this isn't strawberry. Now that I've made that declarative statement it will definitely be strawberry, just wait. Reveal coming soon.

I'm really glad you like that one. I don't drink a lot of wood aged lagers, but I thought that was really well done. When I consider that it's the first beer they've made in their foeder I'm even more impressed. I think Trace will turn out a lot of great stuff in the near future.

Ok, so I got a few of the aspects, but all in all, I think I whiffed. The reveal:

Modern Times - Pharaoh Ascendant: Chocolate Cake Edition w/ cocoa & vanilla
I got the cocoa, and sorta got the vanilla. No berries to speak of at all in this though. It's funny, now that I know what it is, I don't taste the berries anymore. Really nicely done, and making me excited for the rest. Thanks again, @Dimidiata!

Geez, take a day off and 5 pages slip by! That’s OK - makes for enjoyable reading while working on some of the goodies provided by @smanson56 and his ridiculous LIF bomb...

    Foam Brewers Pop Crimes

Hazy pale yellow with a slowly dissipating bright white head with good lacing. Juicy tropical aroma leads into juicy tropical flavors - pineapple, guava, passion fruit with some grapefruit and piney hops. Soft smooth texture, full body and a juicy bittering finish. Delicious! Also one of the sneakiest 10%ers I’ve had. Just my third from Foam (second in this box) and all have been impressive.

Back to reading all the hauls!

I've got a new barleywine can from @LehighAce06 and there's probably a few other barleywines left around here after last Sunday... probably.

Only one way to follow up a 10% TIPA and that’s with a 14% Impy! Besides, I can sleep in tomorrow.

Barreled Souls Sticky Fingers, 14.1% ABV stout aged in Buffalo Trace and bourbon maple syrup barrels, another Dose rec’d from @smanson56. Label and title bearing suspicious likeness to a Stones album from days of yore.

Dayumm. Looks great - pours thick dark brown, nearly black, with clear mahogany edges. Nose is all maple, malt and bourbon. Heavy maple flavors, with bourbon, chocolate, Brown Sugar (from the album!), raisins and nuts. Smooth as the proverbial baby’s butt, though thicker. Low carb, full body, long sweet warming finish mods from chocolate to bourbon to maple to nuts. Sweet but not overly so, and balanced out with the evident ABV. Decadent and delicious.
