    Voodoo Ranger time, the Imperial kind. Full review over at NBW. "tis a good example of the style.

    Charles Lloyd has a new Blue Note album out on the Tone Poet series...appropriately named Tone Poem :slight_smile: Bill Frisell is playing guitar here and he is incredible.

    @JamFuel - Gratulerer med dagen*

    I'm moving on to a beer that, thanks to his son's entertaining post as @scream, I learned our departed virtual barmate looked forward to each year. Side note: for a split second, when I saw the avatar, I wondered if this wasn't the oddest long-con April Fool's joke this site has seen.

    Anyhow, it caught me off-guard seeing the stack of this at the store, but I'm in one of those phases where dates don't seem to register right now. Anyhow, some Waldo's Special Ale on this special day

    Wow, @scream. Been only on BA sporadically the last few days and missed the news until 15 minutes ago.
    Well, I'm not prepared with a Voodoo Ranger, but I have a more personal tribute. I distinctly remember the first time I ever posted a beer with this glass. Don was all over it, "where can I get one?".... a few PMs later and he bought some. RIP @scream.

    First of all, thanks so much for taking such an active hand in organizing this, and for putting together such a cool tribute image. My dad would've loved it. He was in the Army, 3 years if I recall correctly. It wasn't a career for him, but he wanted to, was proud to, and did, serve with honor. I'm raising my glass to all of those that have served our country so well.

    Are they owned by Swedes? Because saftig means juicy in Swedish.

    New Belgium Brewing Co. -- Voodoo Ranger Juicy Hazy IPA (New England IPA)

    3.88/5 rDev -1%
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75

    Soft, pale yellow body, hazy; thick and creamy head, white and sculpted; thick, heavy sheets of foam paint the inside of the glass. Some fine tropical fruit scents; pineapple, grapefruit, lemon. Low-key malt base; biscuit; muted juiciness with a very dull sweetness; light to moderate hop bitterness. Heavy body; velvety; fairly dry overall.

    This beer exudes great looks. Its other aspects are pretty respectable, too. The taste is the weak link. It's not bad, just seems somewhat dull and flat but not boring. Maybe it is the age of the beer although the date on the bottom of the can indicates (I guess) a best-by date of "06 JUN 2020". Regardless, I'd go for another one without reservation.
