Iowa Rumors?

Oh, and Westvleteren 12 tomorrow at John's Grocery in Iowa City! They start selling at 3, but the open house goes until 7 with lots of samples (probably not the Westy though). They got 80 of the gift packs in just in case you all were wondering.

 

Saw Vertical Epic on the shelf at the Marion Hy-Vee tonight. Also about 4 cases of Bourbon County. No Narwhal or Bolt Cutter that I saw.

 

Stone 12.12.12 Vertical Epic Ale is now set to hit Council Bluffs later this week.... and Bourbon County Coffee Stout too.

 

I got 1 of the Westy's from John's at roughly 3:45. I got there at 3 and got my ticket, and went and talked to Joe for a bit. There was maybe 20 left when I split.
They still have Nightstalker if anyone needs some.

 

What was the price for a pack at John's?

I thought I'd heard that too but saw a big post on facebook yesterday that they wanted to do it with their open house today, which actually worked out a million times better for me as I was off work and tomorrow I'm not.

According to the beer baron, we should be getting Boulevard's Rye-on-Rye and Founders Imperial Stout soon. Also, Backpocket Brewing will be shipping out bottles of their beers soon. I've had a couple of theirs at El Bait, and they were pretty good examples of German styles. Looking forward to trying them from a bottle.

 

Founders Imperial stout and rye on rye both landed at johns yesterday.

 

Yeah I saw that on twitter. Then a guy from DSM tweeted Founders about it, and they apparently aren't very happy with the distributor because it was not supposed to go out until January 1st. Sounded like they were going to follow up but I don't know what that means exactly. My guess is I wouldn't expect it anywhere else in Iowa until after the new year, but who knows.

 

Who distributes Founders for the Eastern half of the state. Bonehead move.

 

No idea, Founders website used to list the distributors by state/region but changed it up recently to stores only. I would doubt much would come of it but I know Founders is been having a heck of a time keeping releases from going early (Frangelic and Bolt Cutter were both released in a few states very early) and I've read they haven't been very happy about it (or the gouging many stores have been doing as well).
