Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier in my new Weihenstephaner glass while streaming some European curling championships. Trying to remember the rules of the curling drinking game we came up with last winter olympics.

I've gotta cheat a little bit. Actually drank this last night. It was my good buddy and fellow beer nerd's birthday, and our kick ass bartender brought him this. His was gracious enough to let me have half. It's too glorious not to share.

See my review. Did a side by side. Both are awesome. PtE bottled 11/26 and HT 11/14.

Schneider Weisse Tap 5 Schneider & Brooklyner Hopfen Weisse. Pretty good, but the hops -- while not overwhelming -- completely masked the typical Weizen characteristics.

I usually do, but wanted an equal playing field...

Heady Topper reigned supreme. Although the PtE first sip was like Wow!! Then I had the Topper.

Considerably milder than I thought it would be but appealing nonetheless.

Ok so here is my opinion on this Rogue: very excellent and surprising, it makes so much sense! Each time I tasted the beer, I picked up each flavour, banana, peanut butter, bitter chocolate.

If you can trust me or believe in me, I would say to each of you, this was great and my friend made a great choice in buying 5 bottles! :grinning:

Could not believe finding a bomber of a 9.0% abv beer for only $5.43 (after tax). Plus it is a new beer I've never had before (I was like, the 13th reviewer)...

    Full Sail's 25 Pale Doppelbock

    And there it is:

    Reviewed (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/5316/85650/?ba=Greywulfken)...

In sum, I've never had a "pale" dopplebock before, and I've only had a few dopplebocks period (technically, the Kuhnhenn Heathen was a "triple" bock) - and this was unlike them, BUT, a really good and inexpensive beer. Reminded me more of an Arrogant Bastard mixed with an American DIPA, like Double Trouble. Lots of flavor and complexities.

    Cheers!
