I have been trying to hold out from getting a Twitter account but it seems as if I'm going to have to give in and setup an account.

 

Best way to get D&Q updates. I have it set to send me a text when he tweets.

A word of warning, don't do that with Hay Merchant unless you want a lot of text messages about Steak Night, Rib Night, etc. lol

Thanks for the advise. I mainly want it for the local bottle shops so I can get updates on their inventory.

 

These places need to learn to have seperate twitter account's. Hay_Merchant (for food, music, and specials) and Hay_Merchant_Beer or something to that effect. I believe BEK does this in our market, although it sounds like I'm not to only one without a twitter account so I'm only going on memory. I wish there was some aggregator that retweets local beer info effectively (facebook is too clogged these days)

 

I just saw a few cases at the South Lamar Central Market. It's by an end cap across from the wine desk. They also had Buddha's Brew behind the counter, cases of Gotslandrika by the Funk Metal and about 6 other types of JK beers in the cooler.

 

I just picked up some funk metal at central market westgate in Austin. They also had some Buddah's Brew and Gots there. They had about 4 or 5 cases of Funk.

 

Gabriel's got 3 cases of Funk, $15.49 cash/debit. Limit one per customer.

 

No sign of Funk at Specs Round Rock yet, but they DID just get in a new shipment of Drinkin in the Sunbelt. SIGH. How long was that sitting at Brodie/Arbor Walk before they decided to dump it on our store?

Add that to the many reasons Specs continually pisses me off.

I got a 2 for 1 at Specs Midtown. The price on the shelf was $15.99 but it rang up as Le Petit. I was going to say something, but I would've paid like $20 more if I did so I just kept my mouth shut lol

well...that's stealing, guy. if you knew they were $15.99, saw that they rang up as petits, and then let it go knowing you were getting a bottle for free...then you are taking advantage of the retailer aka stealing.

not cool in my book...and i'd definitely not be bragging about it.

 

I wasn't the only one. I actually did call to let them know about it though. And I'm not the only one, see everyone else's post prior to mine.

 

I don't want this thread to shift into a moral responsibility discussion...but the argument, "i'm not the only one," doesn't negate the fact you took advantage of the shop. not beer advocacy in any way. honestly, you should contact the store and make them aware of the issue...then offer to bring the bottle back and/or pay the difference. this hurts everyone, including you...as those losses could be passed on to jester king. and considering those guys are as golden as they are to this community...

HayMerchantTaps or something... That way you can add newly tapped beers. That's all I need constant updates on. Not if Sally Bob passed his level 2 Mud Turtle exam and at a steak. lol
