Smog City (2021)

My first time getting some IW bottles. Never too late, I guess. Got 2 PBCups and 1 Mocha for delivery. Do we know when it will be delivered to the house?

 

Home deliveries are Monday 3/15 to Wednesday 3/17 depending on your delivery area day.

 

Gotcha. Thx. Ill have a bottle of PBCups to take over to Kona that weekend after delivery to try and a bottle to save for later in the future.

 

Looking forward to my first ever Smog Infinite Wishes. When will that be? Sooner than later. Got 2 Mochas and 2 Peanut Butter Cups. I’m a sucker for Reece’s.

I dunno.

For me it's like bacon. Bacon is perfectly fine by itself. Sure, you can all sorts of stuff to bacon to make it more exciting--chocolate, syrups, spices, etc--but in the end, bacon by itself is still best. YMMV.

Not a fan of adding bacon to everything either (I'd rather just have it on the side, by itself) but that's a story for BaconAdvocate (the other BA, lol).

 

Hey, love me some bacon. But, if someone were to offer bacon from....

A spicy Rye barrel

or

A Madeira barrel

or maaaaybe....

Added a few vanilla beans to it.

I'd be inclined to try some strips.

 

Oh yeah, let's get real. I totally left out, "...but I would drink the ever-loving-eff out of any variants they brew up!!!"

 

Forget the adjuncts, I want to see Smog do a 2 year, 3 year or double barrel O.E.!

 

I feel this way about IW tbh... find the base BA beer is usually the best of the bunch

 

Having an Optical Haze after an atrocious day. It sucks. Tastes like a pina colada made with rotten pineapple juice.

$13 trader jose's vs 16 smog/online? i'll put that to the test

 

Trader Jose’s price is always below average. But they keep a lot of the beers in the aisle. Not cool.

 

From my TJ, I picked up Solar Wind IPA $13 a 4pk. It's hard to drink. It has that rotten old apricot flavor that some other IPA's have had. It's also my first beer since Saturday, 4 days, so normally the first beer after a short break is so good, this is not that. Canned 2.16 so 8 weeks old. Reminds me of some BoozeBrothers IPA's that are not my thing.
The Smog site calls this "tangerine, stone fruit and berry characteristics" and to me, it's not that at all, no bright flavors, all cardboard/musky/way expired plum to me.

I stopped drinking smog city years ago. I'd only go for their stouts at this point if I ever went back. But never really cared for most of their beers.
