Stopped by Smog over the weekend, first time I've been able to drink on site since before the pandemic.

Beers were stellar as usual but the guidelines the brewery has to follow made it seem like the staff was on the verge of being completely overwhelmed.

There was a steady line for beer that snaked through the patio and it was personally uncomfortable having to stand right next to occupied tables with maskless people, it kind of defeats the purpose of social distancing.

There was also this growing group that I think ballooned from six or so people when I got there to about 20 by the time I left. They just began to take over tables without much regard to people who were waiting to be seated, at least that's what it seemed like to me.

I know this isn't entirely on them and they're working with the hand they were dealt. Hopefully what I experienced was a bit of an aberration.

You should of been in Bend this weekend. It was like open everywhere, except you still are suppose to wearing mask of course. The places were packed. Lol.

Well they may not have a Hype_Train behind them, but they have my support and I'm happy to have them nearby.

Virtually everything they do is good to really great. They don't overdo any of the styles with too much sweetness or too much sour, etc. I appreciate that.

I encourage anyone who hasn't been there in a while to check them out again. Laurie and Jonathan are really, really nice people, the employees at every location I've been to are pretty cool, and the regulars (at least in Torrance where I go most often) are super laid-back and friendly. This is one place I actually feel good spending my money--I can't say that about a lot of other places that have more hype.

It's not necessarily that they needed a hype to them, I never said I didn't like them. In the years back I did frequently go there and enjoyed the company, space and beers for what they offered at that time. But as new breweries pop up, for me they just didn't keep my interest as what I was enjoying going forward and I felt they lagged on it. I just dont seek them out on my own behalf. More cudos to others that do.
