What beer are you drinking now? #3117

I'm starting off today with a rock solid, never let you down kind of beer. Paulaner Hefe-Weizen. It's overcast, but warm, so we have some windows open. Fresh air and a great summer beer is a nice pairing.

 

Up now is Fat Head's Benjamin Danklin IPA. It's obviously advertising itself as dank, which it really isn't. But it is still an excellent IPA. There's grapefruit, mango and other fruits. There's a very pleasing bitterness to it. It seems like the hazies are trying to put beers like this out of business, but this guy is proudly hanging on.

6am shift over. Unlike @superspak i do need a nap that benadryl I took before bed is still killing me. But drank a couple Yerba mates so probably not happening. Anyway movie time. Fuck so I really have to do this again tommorow?

 

Otter Creek Free Flow IPA is in my glass now. Unfortunately, it's well out of date, canned on 8/17/20. Thank you Wegman's in Warrington, PA for putting out such outdated beers into your singles section. There's still some leftovers that make me think this would've been a decent beer, but I really can't fairly evaluate it.

Alright my friends I'm back! All good. The side FX of the 2nd covid vaccine have worn off and this beer with you is long overdue! Also my heart goes out to Germany to all the fun loving millions that are involved with Oktoberfest. Cancelled for a 2nd yr in a row. Absolutely shocking but the right decision for sure. It will bounce back in 2022.
So now, let's get back to good old amazing USA beer. This collaboration I smell orange and mango 18" away from the pour! Oh man. What a gorgeous WCIPA. A beautiful pale gold, ripe fruits, dry with fascinating hop twists at the finish.

About a month ago I was sold a couple of bottles of Taj Mahal Lager. One was good the other was dated Nov 2019. I marched back into the place, politely handed the mgr his ass and he apologized. Done and dusted.

 

A rare Monday off work for me. I’ll take it though, as it’s gorgeous out, and I was able to get a run in which was great. Enjoying Eureka with citra now with lunch. Such a great low abv beer, perfect for this time of year. Of my recent haul from Treehouse, this was the beer I bought most of.

 

Now I'm having a 21st Amendment Moon Boots IPA, an ale brewed with strawberries. It has all of the strawberries they advertised, but not too much else. There's lemon in the background and solid maltiness.

 

Extinction Is Forever Sunda Tiger. DDH Hazy IPA from Bevog (Austria).

 

Just drove two miles up the Mountain Road to pick up this (and a couple others) at the brewery. John tweaked the recipe a bit and it's still quite tasty.
