    Oh it’s not that bad regarding mine, but hey I’m in a relationship for a bit over three years with their daughter and they want the best for her so I have to deal with some remarks here and there, to which I retort like an obnoxious teenager.

    The thing is I like my “me-time” and often want to be left alone in my “Fortress of solitude” (@beergoot). I have a family already and my parents are cool, I just don’t need “another” family.

    Best of luck with the pup. I know what you mean about the vet. Been there a few times recently. Unfortunately or actually fortunately I guess, the only thing they let you in for is when a pet is being euthanized. Ugh.

    When I asked my FIL if I could marry his daughter he said “ you’re Italian, I want my daughter to marry an Irish gent.” We weren’t the best of friends after that.

    To be serious for a bit, I’m convinced my in-laws actually like me. I just find them a bit too clingy for my taste. They are decent people, I just don’t wanna spend every damn Sunday lunch with them. I’ve never been much of a family guy. I take their invitation from time to time and sometimes decline. I’m more inclined to decline these days and see more friends which covid has made more complicated for a year.
